Had to drive about 30 miles form my house today to check out a stash of old car parts that were for sale, and on the way home I came across this car parked in a front yard with a For Sale sign. It is a glass car called a Deco Speedster. It has a new Dodge hemi for power, custom fiberglass body, and Fat-mans chassis. Price you say???? Wanna guess??? How about a cool $100 grand. Nicely done but I am not the guy to sign up for this ride!

It's okay. It would look nicer in a solid deep dark color. And whitewalls would be a nice touch.

Why would you advertise a car your asking 100k for...in your yard? OK, so it's a body shops yard, but it's still a yard.

I think it was in a little town called Benton. I noticed you can see the guys sign in one picture. The phone number is on the sign and the area code would be 574.

I do like that design, but ya,white walls would help alot.:D
Two other things seem not to fit though;base of grill kind of needed to flow with fenders and headlights should of been something like CORD flip-ups I think:cool:

Yeah...the grill bottom is killing it, right idea, just too much of it...too cartoony...
along with the wheel/tire combo, the interior looks like it might be questionable in taste, but, I can't really see too well, there....maybe not...

It has some neat flow going....the rear "floating" fenders float just a little TOO much with the two-tone...it looks like too sidecars, or something...not integral.

    $100,000???

    Kinda neat in some ways....

That is one of Terry Cooks designs. Same guy that did the Original Scrape Lincoln Zephyr and then redid them in Fiberglass. Use to be Deccorides but I believed the company changed names sometime ago. There was one of these on the cover of Rod & Custom a few years back that was bad ass. This one however is lacking a few key ingredients and I never understood why you'd build a really kool car and top it off with a cheap ass set of wheels????

Must be some classy neighborhood. The only thing forsale in our frontyards are used riding lawnmowers and free furniture. The reason people put cheapass wheels and blackwall tires is because they run out of money at the end of the build. Should of sold his lawnmower and bought some widewhites, then he would of liked his car more. (Ya I know it`s a body shop, but I couldn`t help it).

Just wondering...for 100Gs, does that price include a
gold chain ....or does the buyer have to supply and/or
already have to have his own???? Inquiring minds
need to know these facts before considering such a
    purchase!!!! :D:D

That car was for sale for 140 on the Deco Rides site.

I like them, specialy in black. There are better looking grills you can put on them from Deco, neat design.

if you look closely, you can see that for 100k, you even get a factory installed loop below that hideous grille to pull it up into, and secure it in the trailer.

I think I'd do something really different with the rear fenders. not sure what though.

...of course I am only doing it in my head, which is considerably easier than doing the actual work.
