I've been to the NSRA SR Nationals in Oklahoma City, Columbus, Ohio, Knoxville, TN, Tampa, FL, several times each and Syracuse, NY, and from Syracuse around Lake Ontario, to Niagara Falls and back to south Alabama. I never thought of any trip as too far, that is until the NSRA opened their shows up, now all of there shows are to far.

Drove the 67 RS convertible 4 speed 24 hours one way with no stopover to Florida for Spring Break (twice), but it had reasonable rear end gears. Notice the pic is on the beach at Daytona. Long since sold and gone...

With 4.88 gears in the 55, about an hour or two at 4,000 rpm is enough to wear you out (Need to replace the Rockcrusher with a Tremec OD or build another car that is a long distance driver!!!)

Nothing is too far if you got the time and the money. Pull a trailer....behind the hotrod man. I stop wherever and whenever I want when I am traveling. No need to worry about reservations, or the cost of a hotel. Stop at a rec center every couple days to rinse of the sludge and you are good to go :)
