I'm wanting to know if I can convert a RHD side shift ****** ...originally column shift- to a floor shift..will a standard 3 speed floor shifter work? Something like Mr Gasket, Hurst, etc?
Or do I need to start looking in Oz?
    Thanks.

Should be able to use the LHD stuff.
My experience with Chev stuff is that there were linkages from the right side of the car under the gearbox to the left side of the box, so the same gearbox was used

No such luck here, everything comes out the right side on a housing, left side is solid Castiron with the fill plug.

you could fit all the guts out of your side shift into a 78 series top shift case..Im ***uming you are talking a 40-48 ford trans, of course. might be easier and cheaper in the long run.

I'm honestly not sure of the year yet...it was in a Ford Pilot ch***is I bought from a fellow Hamb'r...seems to be a bunch of leftover parts to make a car...IIRC it was a '46 Pilot, but reatains wide 5 hubs...rear looks like a shortend Torque tube on a '35 or '36 car, mech brakes, front is wide 5 hyd...

Anyways, I do have the column and stuff to make this truck ('36) RHD, but then there would be some serious dash surgery going on.

I dunno, I'd think someone would have converted a RHD to a floor shift? Might just have to wait for more overseas guys to get through thier coffee!

Ford Pilots had a mix of mechanical and hydraulics standard ,not sure which end had which ,can you use an aftermarket remote 3 speed shifter, Hurst etc and modify your links ,in oz we have a 3 speed Speco brand popular because a lot of our local cars had 3 on the tree ,i put one one on a Ford Zephyr 3 speed no probs .

Find a fabricator, you should be able to move the shifter to the right side after making new mounting tabs.
the H shift pattern is the same on most 3 speeds. Good luck.
