First off i have never posted on here but lurked around alot. My grandfather died Christmas eve and has been building Model A's for years. My Grandmother is ready to start getting rid of some stuff so i thought i would see if you guys could give me some ideas of what some stuff would be worth so she could sell it. First she wants to get rid of a bunch of Model A engines most are running complete engines. There are probably 15 of them. Then there are some AA chassis and some regular a chassis. Any help would be appreciated. I will try to post some pics of some of the stuff. Thanks, Billy
very sorry to hear of your grandpa's passing. I may be interested in an A chassis for a long term speedster build I have rattling around my brain pan... Wish I could help with the 'What's it Worth', but can't. Looks like some good stuff there though.
well you might try finding similar ve-hick-les on oklahoma craigslist or other classified sites, stuff is worth what you can get for it... thats what everyone always tells me! Some of that stuff looks pretty valuble to me! example: yesterday on wichita craigslist, I saw a 31 model A 2 dr, sedan, nice body in primer but surface rusted through, orig. frame, hood, no grille or fenders or motor or windows... 1700 obo... hope this helps!
Google MAFCA and checkout their classifieds. Advertise the 40's pickup in local Craigslist with a picture for $best offer. It looks like a perfect _at rod project.
i think if you look up what you have on some sites even this one. i would see what things have been going for and check there condition and, adjust your price up or down depending on the conition of your stuff. I agree with r8odecay<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_5131078", true); </SCRIPT> you do have some nice stuff. so good luck with the search and sale of your toys there and, also, sorry to hear that your grandfather has passed
Sometimes. We went to one here with tons of cars, farm trailers, ect. I walked out of there almost laughing from all the deals we got.
I agree. An Auction is usually best if you are not an expert on this stuff and can make a full time job of selling it all. If there isn't someone on the property that can provide 24 hr security, I wouldn't even think about advertising any of it. The value is in the details, and there is no way to provide enough details on a forum to appraise all of this stuff with any accuracy. I suppose it's a matter of choosing who you trust most to handle it. My condolences to you and family for your loss.
Thanks for all the help and condolences. The only thing we have sold is the unfinished 4 dr he was working on, and one extra engine.
