Seems to me that the first thing you will need to find out is what kind of problems will you have exporting out of Mexico. Canada might pose a bigger problem because you have tariff to deal with. I don't think importing to the states is as big of a h***le. Once you get all of the paperwork resolved...get a trailer and ROAD TRIP. Sounds like a hell of an adventure.

if i was buying it not a penny would exchange hands until 1 i personally inspected the vehicle, 2 it was on my native soil because customs can hold things up as long as they want. it's smart to ask but nobody here can honestly help if the deal goes bad for any reason because this ain't ebay and your probably not using paypal for the purchase. dude their killing people daily in mexico for no reason. i don't care if their was a 32' ford steel roadster mint condition for $$$ would i go into mexico these days. he might be a honest dude but a buddy might be greedy and knock you in the head for a few peso's.

Hi all, just saw this thread by chance Fireball...anyway,my main market is not the States..i usually sell a lot in Europe and Australia...just preparing all paperwork for the next container with 2 cars to Sweden...
Just send a 36 Ford to New Zeland for a Hamber...got plenty references in case Fireball ,no worries...i know my stuff and no BS here!

Anyway,i think there are NO import fees to import a car to Canada, same as the US....all mexican paperwork is valid elsewhere ,we got the same papers as anybody else, tirle, registrations and so on...nothing special, simply is in spanish!

Again, there are no h***les to export cars from Mexico to US and Canada...in the Fireball case is way better logistically talkin to send out directly from Mexico to Canada ( Vancouver ,his case) cause there is a direct ship going thee makin it accesible for me to make it done...logistics takes a HUGE efforts from my side but i always accomplished my sales and shippings worldwide...i think i sent more than 100 cars alone in couple years so i think i know somethin about...

I did also export cars to US crossing the US borders via ground,Laredo TX mostly cause is the closest border i have...just send for an aussie Hamber a Caddy to Laredo TX that he will send somebody to be picked up,moved to WA state and shipped to Australia...

Mexican customs are very peaky checkin in at the harbours and borders too,but i never had a real problem myself ...dont think that everything goes thru easy, they are tuff....but with old cars its ok!

I can go on and on...but again just ask and i fill you in....the tricky thing is to have good contacts in many points, safe trusted guys to cover it the right way...

Yeah,Mexico is hot nowadays, lots of **** happening down here but we're used to it and does stop the normal life and fun anyway..

BTW,your final shipping quote its on the go...almost ready!

If you guys have questions, just ask...try my best to answer...Sled

Tho I have no personal dealings with the man, I can vouch that Sled is a fine upstanding member of the HAMB community. I've not heard a single complaint about him on here. Only compliments.

    Hope that helps.

No kidding, nevermind eBay and PayPal marketing schemes.

Sled's been around a while pedaling cars - ask him for references.

55dude,its up to everydody how to act..i always invite my customers to be my guests down here and inspect the cars,i love to know and met car people worldwide...some can ,many not!My door is open anytime...

Unfortunately you're right on the killing side, lot of **** going on especially thru drug dealer gangs killing each other WITH a reason..everyday,yes..true!But again is theier ****,does'nt bother us normal people...of course we would more stability and peace, that's obvious...but you learn to move all thru this but i have to say there are many retired americans and canadians living for example in Chapala lake, the biggest in Mexico...i mean, the good and bad is all over ,man...Again ,we know how to move down here and get things done no matter what...is not so tragic as it looks from above, your media are pumpin up lot of **** too...whatever ,life goes on.. Of course i can provide TONS of references...and believe me,does'nt matter how hard you try, there will be always somebody that complains...that's for sure!

Man,i cant tell enuff how much i do love cars, bikes ,and all the vintage stuff..since im havin so much fun scarfin up all the vintage tin here i take my risks to be around all over even in tuff areas to save that certain thing...well,i personally never ever had a problem til now...it depends your at***ude, style, and oh well...**** happens anywhere..i hear all kids of stories myself and i agree is not the safest place currently but there are still TONS of great friendly people that pays the price of these actual situation..we all hope will be getting better....still millions of turists came everyday here on the beaches havin fun....dont generalize and be narrow minded, truth is a bit different if you check with your own eyes...

Gotta go now, moving out very early today to DF ,more cars are waitin for me fellas...

  11. I can vouch for Sled as well.
Been dealing with him for several years now and never a problem.
The guy from NZ who bought the '36 roadster raved about the super
treatment he got from Sled and co in Mexico.
No h***les with car, paperwork, shipping etc..
Like Sled said. **** happens everywhere. It is not only happening in Mexico.

  12. I have never met sled but read a lot of posts about him. Seems to be an alright guy! If you really want this car go through with it!

Also sorry to threadjack but sled if you ever get a '32 shoot me a p.m.!

I have bought 4 x cars through Sled, not one iota of a problem.
From the purchasing right down to the paperwork and shipping, 100% above board efforts and communication from Sled.

I too was personnally there in Mexico, and didnt have any issues with the locals or their politics.

Sled just to let you know, I will be back buying cars from you again,
    in the near future!!

Fireball,no offence taken at all and actually looks like it came out kinda ruff from my side cause i was really in a hurry last night packin my stuff and already moved to DF,wich im currently...i apologize myself if went out that way,not my intention at all cause usually im very keen on takin care of customers in any detail possible avoiding surprizes for them..in other words, protecting them and theier hard earned green,no matter how much it is...
Well, workin on your shipping quote ,get 90% of the costs already and back to you soon with all costs splitted to the last bit...
Just ask your customs if its ok to import an US made car to Canada...i will be surprized if you cant, cause i think you guys up there have aprox the same rules as USA,wich perfectly legal and NO import fees at all...lucky ones!
Again if you need references i got plenty to p*** you, just ask...
    back to you soon,have a nice weekend...sled

sled, no disrespect here as i have read ony positive things here on the hamb about you. being on the hamb doesn't change how a person does their business as i'm waiting for parts right now and the communications with the seller so far has disappointed me, when my **** is paid for ship it to me when you say you are. just cancelled 3 ebay purchases because in my eyes they were ****tards! you buy anything (ot) from china be prepared to wait.

55dude,no sweat here either..personally i think is how everyone of us likes to manage things and business..there are way too many people lookin for quick cash and when they get it they forgot about the customer,it's very common nowadays...i strive the opposite..i dont care if somebody buys from you but my mission is to inject trustness first..if the customer then is ready to go and like the product, welcome and we move on the practical side..and believe me logistics from here aint the easiest thing to take care ,that's why im extra peaky on customers communication point..to make em relaxed having a direct line with me...i love what im doing too,and i consider the customer each one as special..cause somebody that does not know me personally (98% of the times) deserves to be trated greatly having sent some hard earned money to me ,wich i feel is a previlege!
That's my way..im always inviting customers to take a look at my junk in Mexico and havin fun down here too...
Basically this actuall world is loosing values, wich i personally hate..so i fight to do things right here, even if i have to fight with the mexican habits, not so well considered elsewhere..at last im only one man's band here so i try to keep up the best i can with all parties ,currently having 5/6 deals going on...lot of work fellas but im havin fun to save all this junk as you already know....
