I have a waterpump off a serpentine system, will it work with a conventional belt setup if i switch pulleys? 350 chevy in my 52 deluxe.

No you will have to get a pump intended for V belts.

The serpentine pumps turn backwards as compared to a V belt pump.

I ran into that years ago when some guys put an earlier small block in an 80 something Camaro and used the V belts and then went out and bought a pump for the Car instead of the engine setup.

Thanks man, think I'm getting a short pump while I'm at it.

That will work if the timing tab on that engine isn't straight up and you have to check the timing by shining the light down behind the long pump. On a lot of the later engines they hung so much stuff off the left side of the engine they moved the tab.

You can still use a bolt on tab and make a new (in the correct spot) mark on the damper to match.

Timing mark is in clear view on left with pump in place.
