The tech just keeps getting better. The level of humor, not so much. But I have made some really good friends from here. And, amazingly to me, I have reconnected with pals from many years ago. The mods try real hard to keep it on track, this HAMB. Many of us are a bit like unruly first graders. Easily distracted. Kind of mean to the dumber ones. Totally ready to learn something.

Every time someone posts a rat rod, the light here grows a little dimmer. I have gotten grief for pointing out that the white, speckled stuff on chicken **** is still chicken ****. I will continue to do so...

I think I'm like #2937 if that cursor member number thing works. I'd never even heard of the HAMB before. My brother was surfing the internet and he said that my car was being discussed (the old Gl***er G***er) and sent me a link. Turns out, one of the first people I come across is Django, who incidentally had a band with my brother in college and I had lost touch with like 12 years earlier. The HAMB is funky like that. I got reamed for no intro too. All good. Met tons of great people on here over the years and only two ***hats. That's a pretty good ratio.

I've got a huge saved file of tech posts that temporarily give me the faith to believe that something I shouldn't be doing is entirely possible...as evidenced by the fact that I'm in the process of cutting a fairly rare car in half right now...horizontally. Wouldn't have tried that without the HAMB. If I may quote some Better Off Dead here.... "after the Olympics, everything looked so damned easy".

I remember thinking the onternet would never work...it would get clogged up and be a constant block if everyone in the world was online!!! damn was I wrong....but it did seem right in the early days of dial up when we would wait for half an hour for one thread to download pics!

It's been a fun ride. I actually spend less time on here now than past, mostly because busy with life and work stuff. It moves so fast now, harder to follow posts or friends. met a lot of great people on here that are now real close friends. Learned a lot of good tech and shared some as well over the years.

Hard to believe it has been about 10 years, I definitely recall the older more crude HAMB. It is way softer now. I did not think it would get as big as it is now, but did know it would grow and become larger than when I joined.

  6. This one was easy since it was last up on Wednesday:D...........the others? Good memory.I can also read very fast so I tend to peruse more threads than the average person:eek: Plus, I dont have a television:p If you remember keywords that were in the threads it makes searching easier. :)

If you don't remember **** Reynolds, you haven't been here long enough...I got my *** handed to me the first time I signed up on this forum, left for a year or so and signed up under a new name...things have been much smoother since then, hahaha...I think I've changed names here at least 3 times by now, maybe more...this one is definately going to stick...hell, even back when I first started coming here it was amazing, and some parts of the forum have gotten better, but wading through the BS from the bandwagon jumpers, scenesters and young punks gets tiresome compared to how things were...progress is a ***** sometimes...I still would never trade this forum for anything, met a lot of great people from here...

I think I here around 2000 with a different name.Yeah, some guys used to rip on new guys, sometimes very funny, but often just a bunch of keyboard cowboys in my opinion .I drifted off for a few years and when I came back it seemed my old screen name just vanished.
