I have about 200 shakedown miles on my panel truck and it was running great. Then when I got home today, I tried to put the 700r4 in Park from drive and it wouldn't go past Neutral.

I have a Lokar 32" floor shifter and today I installed a custom shift knob using their kit. It worked great all day today (about 60 miles around town). After it wouldn't go into reverse or park, I thought maybe the shift knob may be too heavy so I took it off and just pressed the set screw. I knew it worked because it locks out in Neutral and when pressed, goes back to Drive and low but nothing up at Reverse or Park.

Also, before I got these miles in, I installed a bowties TV cable and a Trango JR shift kit. Like I said, 200 great miles including DC Beltway stop and go and I-95 fast speeds.

I checked the fluid level and it's fine.

    Any Suggestions? Thanks,

take the linkage off the tranny and see if it goes into R and P. if that does'nt work I'm clueless about automatics. Could it be something wrong in the valve body?

  5. Well then, your ouuta luck in RACE or PUTT-PUTT ;)

I swapped shifters in the 54 and had to cut/move some things due to the linkage which was rubbing.
