Hopefully I can make it with the Galaxie next year. May or may not be fully finished by then. Stupid small budget is running me ragged, haha

  2. Travis,

Then make sure your car is there next year and hang out on Thursday and Friday, no crowds at all. Saturday definately gets busy..............

  3. All the shows on the west coast are like that! People just love car shows!!! If you have a car in the show, you get in before the gates open. That's how I got almost all of my car pic's. You never know...Axle might make it bigger next year.

The song changeups were fun, especially when he started to play See See Rider and the band didn't know it. I wondered if the bass player was gonna take a swing at him with the Chapman stick.

I finally got most of my photos done and on my server:

Now I gotta go finish the photos from the Imperial Palace collection. I've never seen so many frikkin Rolls-Royces in one place in my life. It'd really be kool to do a radical kustom on wonna them. Maybe somebody has. If it can be done with and Auburn 810 Speedster, I guess a Rolls is fair game. I don't think I've seen many Mercedes 300 SL Gullwings but I DID see a kustom Ferrari GTO at the Boise, Idaho show a few weeks back:

Ok. Coffee break's over. Back on my head.

    Chevy Asylum,
Just for the record, the Deuce sedan and that Model A coupe were pre registered and allowed in to the show. Lets get facts correct guys. Thank you.

I had a great time this year. I saw a lot of bitchin' rides! Thanks Axle for the primo parking spot next to the DJ booth. Made it quite convenient to walk over and grab a beer out of the ice chest. On side note, the only thing that sucked was driving home, hung over, in 35 mile per hour winds. The gusts blew my ride around like a rag doll.

Funny, normally 1953 - 1954 Chevy's have every car beat at a major car show like VLV. Don't know what it was but the top car of the weekend was 1960 Chevy's - El Co's, wagons, Impala's, 2 door sedans, etc. They are a great body style though. Anyone else notice that?

It was much less crowded than I expected even when Chuck was on, having never been to VLV before.
I was up at 6.00AM with Jet Lag on the Saturday morning and took a look around as the cars were arriving, great time for getting pics.
Jerry Lee now thats going to be worth coming over for next year.
    Some great cars
    Met some great folks
    Everyone friendly
    Well done guys.

    Hi Alxe from paco Indianapolis

  28. thank you!
so much more than i expected. ive always heard about it and read it in magazines, but always expected it to be a bit of a rock-a-billy hipster type hangout... i was totally blown away by the whole show! the cars! the people! the bands! the pabst! (the hangover!) so many people smiling and havin fun, even if it was just revin their engine, or passin out in the back seat. so many amazing cars.
i put off goin for 13 years, now me and my girl are thinkin of makin it our annual trip!!!!
thanks so much for makin the effort to do something cool for everyone else! hope it is all worth the stress in the end!!!!

p.s. the 36 that won the award was beautiful!

    cheers. dave.r.
p.s. the only down side (apart from the hangover) was the wind on the drive back to l.a. on monday, if you could maybe do something about that for next year???? haha...
