Buddy of mine called about 30 mins ago and said it was raining heavy around the Waco area. He said there was a wreck of a blue colored Roadster that had spun out and hit the median. Said it was tore up pretty bad. I Know there are alot of ppl going back from the rained out drags..

    Hope they are ok.

Wait! That must be someone else cause I think Norm was in his coupe. I think he found a ditch with it.

Bad week to be named Norm. I hope Norm or both Norms are ok, and their cars are easily fixed.

At least it sounds as if no injuries occured, I am feeling ill to think it could be any hot rod damaged, and if it's Kontinental Norm's sweet ride I am freaked. I had the priviledge to meet Norm and shake his big friendly hand, and see he and his lovely gal enjoying thier ride at the L.S.R. So best wishes for recovery and repair to who ever was so unfortunate. ~Sololobo~

Found out who it was. Ray Hamblin from Robinson, coming back from a car show in Troy, Tx. Won Best in Show at the show then hit a slick spot and lost control and hit concrete wall. No injuries to him but car is totaled.

Ouch, hate to hear that. Glad to hear that they are ok though.
    They were almost home too.
It looks like he had tires that were up to most rain storms but having lived near Waco for 8 years back in the 70's those Texas gully washer rain storms dump a lot of water in a hurry and I 35 in that area has some bad spots.

I have known Ray for a long time and he is a capable hot rod builder who can bring the car back to life, but he is pretty disgusted right now. He does have a 35 Chev sedan that he drove for years, but has torn it apart to freshen it up. Hopefully he can get a rod back on the road soon. He and Brenda make most of the local runs as well as the LSSRA state run where his wife was named street rod lady of the year last year.

The only thing that is important is that they are ok.

Everything else is just stuff. It all can be replaced or not.
Thats why we pay for insurance.

They say any wreck you walk away from is a good one. Glad the damage was limited to iron and not flesh and bone.

exactly. screw the car. in the end it really doesn't matter. They walked away...that's the important part.
