    Once again, I am proud to be a member of the Vehicle Selection Committee for the EyesOn Design show in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The show will take place on Fathers Day, which is June 20, 2010.

    One of the cl***es I am again handling is the Rods and Customs cl***, which will focus on the personalization of the automobile, from early rods to modern day chopped top customs.

    I already have some really neat cars, but as always, I know there are H.A.M.B. members out there who have some great cars that I would love to invite.

    The show is set on the grounds of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford Estate right on the waterfront on nice gr***. This show is invitation only and is a benefit for the Detroit Ins***ute of Ophthalmology. It is a fantastic show in a great setting!

    If you are not familiar with the show, please view the website www.eyesondesigncarshow.com, or ask Denise, as she (and her Dad) are past participants! Also, Mike Zenor took some great shots that he posted from last years show when he was an invited participant.

    If you have a Rod or Custom that leans toward earlier design and influence and you would like to be a part of one of the Detroit area's most prestigious events, please shoot me an e-mail at bashton426@gmail.com

    Please note; I am not looking for any modern day super high tech cars, as I am again emphasizing the transition from early raw rodding to slightly more modern, but not over the top style. Not interested in billet-clad cars or high-tech stuff.

    Cars can be from the 20's-50's and keep in mind the emphasis is on design and execution and not just trailered show-only cars.

    Cars with real history are encouraged to be a part of the show.

    THANKS;

    I have three suggestions:
    1. From the ISCA Collection: Jerry Yach's 39 Merc Convertible, and;
    2. Marty Ribbitts' 34 Roadster, and;
    3. Frank Mack's Track Roadster - all cl***ics from "the day" and;
    4. Ollie Hines' 34 Ford coupe, Cadillac-powered, with a Brewster grille, still in MI.

    All are gorgeous and true cl***ics in the "Eyes On Design" tradition.

    Excellent suggestions, although I am not familiar with the Yach '39. Do you have contact info for any of the owners, or if any of the owners see this and are interested; bashton426@gmail or call (586) 549-5291.

    Frank Mack's roadster is owned by Bruce Meyers and last I saw was sitting in "The Vault" (ba*****t) of the Petersen in California.

    Hi,
    We emailed earlier today about my '70 Judge. I'd be happy to take a shot at lining up some traditional hot rods, if you still need them.

    Let me know,

    Thanks Geo, I am indeed looking for a few more to add to the mix.

    I have to say this years lineup will be one of the most diverse and unexpected yet, and I am comitted to keeping it interesting.

    Many Thanks to all who have replied.

    Bob, You should visit Billetproof at Riverside park in Ypsi on May 15th. There will be a TON of tradtional styled hot rods and customs to choose from to invite.

    We're all set with a nice variety ranging from Ramsey's '32 to Darren's '59 Edsel with some surprises in between.

    Thanks to all who responded! See ya at Billetproof.

    Bob you should come out to Davisburg, Mi June 5th for sins of steel. We will have a entire show full of cars and people that would love to attend your show. One of our members Bob Miller was invited to your show a few years back in his Ford sedan.

    Ask again in about 3 years, I might be done with my '39 Ford deluxe coupe. Between my ocd and the tribute to my father, it will be awhile.
