got some 3 rib bumpers, not sure about the best way to get them on.

rear looks easy, but front's kinda tight. ideas?

Holler for kustom7777, I got him a set a while back and he put him on his shoebox, haven't seen him on here in a while though. Wonder where he has been.

Here's a pic of Jim's car from the Gettysburg show...can't help on mounting though. You wouldn't happen to have a smooth rear bumper off of that shoebox that you're putting the plymouth bumpers on, would you? I've got the one with the single horizontal rib on the rear and I'm trying to find one without the rib...

Curt - Thanks for the pic!

I actually do have the smooth (49) bumpers, but I traded them to Gotcha. Let me look around though, I can probably dig one up pretty easily.

wasn't too terribly difficult to do,,the rear bumper had to be narrowed,,i used a 49 chevy license guard to hide the seam (i also cut and filed the license frame to fit the ribbed contour of the bumper,,,a LOT of trips back and forth to the grinder, but worth it)..,,,,the front was ok as it was, although you will have to trim the fender extensions on the bottom of the front fenders a bit... brackets were heated and bent to fit, if you can't bend them to fit, just fab some new brackets, and weld them to the frame after you get everything all lined up properly,,you'll need some oval shaped bumper bolts as well, i think i just used some desoto bolts, not a perfect fit, but pretty close(i had NO luck trying to find 49 plymouth bumper bolts),,,also,,don't know how true this is, but somebody told me this AFTER i did my bumpers:....if you put the front bumper on the rear, and the rear bumper on the front, it's a much better fit, you don't have to narrow the bumper at all,,,don't know if it's really true or not,,,maybe another HAMBer knows for sure...

I decided to use two 49 plymouth rear bumpers on the front and back of my shoebox. Simply because I like the the way the rear bumper wrapped around closer to the shoebox body line on both front and back. The 49 plymouth front bumper has less of a "U" shape if you will.
