  2. Got the frame horns from brookville, and the front end is speedway. Thanks man.

Thanks man, ya i take pride in my work, but i want it right so ill work with my freind and get them addressed.

So adding a link like the above picture would make this work? Ill add boxing plates to the frame but starting over in the rears not an option.

Thanks guys, like i said this is my first early hot rod frame so ive learned alot and Im continuing to learn. One day i hope to be good enough to start my own shop...

    Thanks again

damn man that frame looks bad ***! i wish my 28 chevy frame looked that professional

  4. No offense but I do not understand this comment. A dozen or more folks pointed out the obvious errors in the ch***is, several of whom are professional hot rod and race car builders yet you aspire to do the same? Thats like saying Damn, I wish I was Ben Rothlisburger today!

The OP is on the right track, but even he admitted his inexperience and errors.

  5. "Live and learn" right? The goal is to learn from them. Im no professional Nor do i claim to be, Everyone has to start some where....

I will say that the OP's open-mindedness to input from folks who have so much to contribute really makes this thread. He, as well as many of us, can learn a lot, simply by reading here. Thanks to all for the civil and informational posting.

  8. Yes thanks to everyone, and for the record i ask ElPolacko in a "pm" to check this out and give my input and that a very much appereicate.

I was going to say yikes! about the c-notch, but that's covered. (And such a beefy crossmember behind it?)
I was going to double yikes! about the radius roda and the front mount for them metal to metal, no bush, no compliance for movement etc, but i think that's covered.

I think the frame is too wide at the front. When fully loaded it looks like it will hit the shackles?

So much welding to make those rear kickups scares me too. They should at least be fish-plated.

Yes, the extra link and bushings where your bones meet the frame is what it would take to make this a sound suspension.

some more naging the panhard bar should be longer and mounted in the center
of the axletube.seen from the rear
The way its mounted now its going to pull the axle sideways creating bump
    stear and selfstear

Heo, you are somewhat on track but for all intents and purposes the panhard rod in this case is a minor concern.

To the point, roll steer is possible but not bumpsteer, because the bar is not centered on the suspension and we are talking about a ladder bar or trailing arm rear suspension here. When using a panhard rod the center between it's mounting points become the roll center of the rear suspension. For most street applications we would like to see the bar centered in the middle of the car and on the same level as the rear axle at ride height.

If anyone wants to see the result of running no torque arm, here you go!

This was what I found under my '33 Ford pickup. Power was from a 283 only. The PO was a huckelberry, but this is why I was able to pick up this Ford for dirt cheap.

I'm tearing it all apart and building it a bit better. Anyway, here you go. Look at how badly the bones bent! And look at the resulting pinion angle! LOL.
