Need your advise here fellas I've seen these truck shocks mounted two ways on several hot rods over the past year, here are a few examples sideways... and upright... Which way should these Delco's be mounted and which way will they work the best on my RPU or does it even really matter? Thanks, cab
Shocks are very similar to modern MG shocks, if you dare call them modern. The screw should be on top to be able to fill them. When the shock leaks at the lever arm and the screw is at the bottom you will loose shock fluid and possibly function. I would mount them with the screw up. Nick
Pulled these off the back of an International Harvester panel truck. This is the same way they were mounted. I have also pulled a few stock GM trucks apart and all of them have been mounted this same way.
Its kinda up to you.. they should be completely sealed and as long as they don't leak you should be ok mounting them any way you want... www.cl***icautoshocks.com is a great re builder of these type of shocks and can help you out to get them working properly
