rebuilding 30s to 50s delco shocks at home

    i am currently rebuilding a 39 olds (pickup) which has delco double acting lever type shock absorbers which were used on pontiac caddillac buick olds chrysler and many more.this thing has not moved for 30 plus years but there is a little spattering of semi dried up oil in each shocker.so my question is can i rebuild these at home what sort of oil do i use .can i get replacement parts.how do you get the semi rusted caps off the ends.i know many hambers run these .whats youre advice thanking you dave:)

    Your best bet is to send them to FIVE POINTS. www.cl***icautoshocks.com

    the problem is the seals and the guts will all be rusted or dried out.. Five points will rebuild them to brand new with all new seals and offer a two year warranty...
