illiopolis, il to be exact. i've always wanted to know how to work on cars but growing up nobody in my family did anything mechanical at all. i've always wanted to own a classic car too, so recently i bought 1963 impala and figured i'd kill two birds with one stone. so i talked my friend "lowlife matt" into helping me fix up my new car a bit and he pointed me in the direction of this forum so i can at least bring something to the table as i use his garage/tools/knowledge to get me up and running.
Ahhhh... 1963 Chevys, by golly I had a 409 4 speed SS myself, back in th day. Great cars,.. Hey, WELCOME from TROY IL !
I'm in the same boat as you. I've owned a lot of junk (mostly 4WD) over the years with the intention of learning. Well a couple weeks ago I bought a 65 F100 this one is it. It runs and drives which I am hoping will keep me motivated, that and a great co-worker that is an old hot rodder. So at the age of 40, maybe this old dog can learn some new tricks. Anyway, I'm over in Decatur so if you need some help with something sometime give me a yell and maybe both of us can learn something.
Welcome form montgomery all you new guys are in the right place to learn a thing or 2 keep us posted on your projects.
