The local auto museum gave us the opportunity to host there very first hot rod exhibit and we have had an absolute blast doing so. We put together a collection of cars which we believe represented the early days of hot rodding including Bobby Green's Old Crow belly tank, Vern Tardel's personal roadster as well as the AV8, Clayton's (MrModelT) 1926 roadster, Joe Fazio's Eddie Meyer Equipped 1932 barnfind roadtser as well as many other great examples. It is a fantastic opportunity for you Nor-Cal rodders to see some of these famous cars up close and personal as well as checking out and helping a great museum. We hope you all make it and enjoy it.
doctorZ ... very cool ... I'll definitely have to check the exhibit out during my next visit to the Sacto area.
Rob and the rest of the So. Cal team as well as the California Auto Museum put allot of work into this wonderful exhibit and I am honored to be a part of it and have my car along side such fantastic and famous automotive company. The cars that So.Cal selected for the exhibit are fantastic and the museum's collection is just as impressive. I urge everyone that can to visit and support this excellent exhibit and wonderful museum!
Here are a few pics that I was sent by the Cal Auto Museum and authorized to post up. Just a "Sneak Peek" for now.....gotta go check out the museum yourself to see the rest of this great exhibit!
yep - good shop there and a good burger across the street...will be out to Sac soon....hopefully take in the show...
Man, nice! I'll to take a trip up to check it out. Maybe take my son and throw in the train museum too.
Well said! A total cl*** act! I know Rob and the rest of the So.Cal team put in a ton of work on this..and it shows! I must say your "Old Crow" belly tank lakester is quite impressive and cool as heck to see up close in person! I have seen it countless time in publication and on video, but never thought my ol' T would be on display next to it. I also look forward to seeing run at Bonneville again....but in person this time Not bad for an old 'Banger! Clayton
I visited the Museum yesterday and the exhibit looked great. Things were still being put in place and the staff was battling a leaking roof in a bad rain storm but it's worth checking out for sure. (I love the '26 T by the way...!) more pics here....
Thanks for the kind words! I means a lot coming from both of you. I hope everybody is able to check out the display and see some of these incredible cars.
Nice photos! To bad about the roof leak....sounds like they got all of our rain from up here in Portland!
Very cool and attention-getting promotional flyer...... and the cars and displays pictured here look impressive. Sure wish I was closer!
Looks like a Deuce hiboy display. Yes I saw the T, truck, tank, and coupe. How many cars are in the exhibit? Was the focus on Deuces?
looks like a definite to do list thing-do they still put on swap meets at the museum? Thanks for info/pics
Yes, I saw it while I was there delivering the T. I believe it is actually a '31 5-window (or used to be for that matter) rather than a '32 ..I thought the Tri-Motor was a nice touch as well! Nice Job on "Old Crow", such a neat car and awesome to see it up close in person...has great "character" to it.
Actually, it is described as a Deuce Some more pics of the Cal Auto Museum, (formerly the Towe Auto Museum) can be found in my fotki... http://public.fotki.com/rlh5599/towe-auto-museum/
