I knew it would happen when I saw Bob K's chevy rag top sitting at Mort's tent on the salt this year. Mort had this big ol' helium balloon above the tent with "Hop Up" on it..couldn't miss it. Congrats Bob! I'll post a link to the magazine's cover in a minute... HOPUPLAND THIS MONTHS COVER Yes, our favorite Wisconsin Insurance Monitor, Bob Klessig got the slippery Stovebolt done in time to put about 13000 miles on it this summer. This was at Bonneville. You might remember Bob as the guy who was ice fishin on the salt a couple years ago an we caught him on film. AND YES, FOR THOSE WHO ARE STARVING FOR COOL..... HOP UP VOLUME VI - TRUE TO TRADITION
HHhhhmmmmm, took the shot so we can't see if the deck lid corners are rounded Congratulations Bob. That's better than getting 15 minutes in imfamy 'cause NO ONE throws a Hop Up away! Looks like you're starting with a Happy New Year!! Dennis
Buick 59, That photo is just on the webzine. It's not on the "cover" of the actual annual. I hope this is ok with you. It's a great shot! I was there. HopUp is *****in'!
I've actually ridden in it. Bob gave me a ride from the HopUp tent to where my car was parked in the pits at Bonneville this summer. The new leather seats and carpets were carefully covered with plastic to protect from the salt and my sweaty ***. It was a little unerving to ride with clear plastic sheeting flopping around but at speeds under 140 it was ok... This car rides like a new Lexus convertible. What? Lexus doesn't make a convertible? Well then, I guess Bob's car is even better than a Lexus!
To Clear this up. I asked Mike before B'ville if he would shoot some shots of the car on the salt. He charged me for the film and the copy to CD and for the prints. I should have asked Morty to give credit but it never occured to me because I've never seen any credit on his web site. Having said that, Mike did an AWSOME job and shot about 200 shots. Some of the closeups are just *****en. Sorry Mike for not giving proper credit. B B
I'll add some of my shots here for those who haven't seen the car. It's 100% cl*** all the way thru. This should answer the questions about the rear. Clouds reflected in the hood. Paint is flawless smooth actually. And with the top down in the pits with Purple Pickup's truck.
Congrats, Bob. I have drooled ofer the Chevy ever since it first was posted here. Then, this last August beside the house here in Beautiful down town Webb Central, Misery. Just Right, two words that describe the Convert.
LOL Don, any lower and it'll s****e when you drop off road's end onto the salt. I had to raise the Chevelle for that reason. He could bag it maybe... Naaa.
A big "Attaboy" to you Bob. Your convert is one of my favorites and I, for one, am damn glad to see you get some cover time.
Bob's car is one of my all time favorites. It is just perfect in every respect. If I had that car I would change nothing, except name on the ***le!!!
Hey Bob, everything is peechey. I thought it was on the cover of the magazine. It's no big deal. Now wait for the Street Rodder special and lets see what they do with the pictures in that. Mike
hey bob,,, looks like i didn't leave any permanent imprints on it at back to the fifty's last summer,, congrats on making hop up history,,, love miss ho
Bob your car really is killer. I wouldn't change a thing if you were to leave it to me in your will. ehhh....that won't work...you'll probably outlive me.
[ QUOTE ] If anyone ever deserved it, it would be Bob K.. a wonderful person with a beautiful car.. [/ QUOTE ] I'll second that.
