Well, if the C6 came from a 390 then the bell housing will bolt up to the 352 no problem. As far as the transmission, I'm not sure but believe the mount is different so some crossmember work will be needed. You may need the flexplate from the 390 as well. Might want to double check the tunnel, too. JUst to make sure that C6 will fit, probably will, I think they are pretty close in size.
    My 2 cents

As long as the trans is from another big block .
The C6 was made for a big block and small block so you have to make sure on what you have first before you go through all that work .
Did you measure the C6 and Cruise to see if they are the same length ? Remember you don't have much room to play with on the drive shaft length ! Also I hope you got the trans TV rod from the donor car for the passing gear hook up . How about the flywheel ? Make sure that is correct to before you try to install the heavy C6 !

are you refering to the "kickdown" no i dont have that but i can make one im good at that stuff... as far as the length if my memory serves me correctly they are either 1 inch or half inch difference

so if i had to pay somebody to put it in and mod the crossmember and maybe the driveshaft... how much is this gonna hurt my pocket? if its fairly close i can do this myself

The cruise-O-matic that came in your 62 would have had the long starter drive originally, untill 66 or 67. The long starter drive won't fit in the later c-6, so you will have to use the later FE starter unless its already bean changed out, and I believe the flex plate as well.

I did the same swap in a '63 Galaxie. Used the same flexplate but newer style starter. The stock trans crossmember will work but will need to be moved either forward or back (can't remember), you can use 2 of the 4 factory bolt holes in the frame and drill 2 new ones. The bolt holes in the crossmember for the tranny will need to be modified. The driveshaft doesn't need to be changed other than installing the yoke for the C6 tailshaft.

I did this same swap on my '62 Galaxie a couple of summers ago. I swapped out the flexplate and switched to the newer style starter. Then I bought the conversion crossmemer from crites performance. That made it almost a bolt in deal. For the cooling lines I used the truck ones from the donor rig and cut them off at the radiator so that I could install an aftermarket cooler. My C6 came from a mid 70's f250, but they should all be fairly similar. I really wouldn't say there was any performance gain whatsoever. The C6 eats alot of power. The positive benefits of the C6 are parts availability and affordable shift kits/stall converters. Please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

so under close inspection, my crossmember is definately not bolt in at all...its welded. so removing and replacing with another isnt as easy. the two transmissions are the same overal lenght but the rear mount for the C6 is 4 inches farther back so im going to make an adapter out of some plate and get the new starter and flexplate, route new coolant lines to an external auxilary oil cooler...what you guys think?
