ok I have a 63 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe and I have heard many different size batteries are the best for it. It has a V8 - 390 hp motor that is the original and rebuilt. I plan on eventually plan on bagging the all 4 wheels but for the time being just want it stock... So my question is this What is the best size battery CCA and CA battery for it?.... all help would be much appreciated

The biggest one that fits in the tray used to be the rule of thumb years back. You can probably try a battery site like Interstate and get some information that will help.

How about a stock sized battery? Cadillac used pretty big ones - grp27 or so...maybe a grp 30 (60s lincoln) would work.

If you need a lot of power - stick an 8D in the trunk - it's a marine battery used by racers for the weight (±250 lbs) and the fact that you can run them a long time (car-wise) with no alternator, then just charge them up during the weekdays.

a group 75. i had one in my 62 and it fit perfectly. Try and use the maine type terminals if you can, they many not be as "traditional" as the post clamps, but they are far more resistant to corrosion.

I use the highest cranking amp, deep cycle battery I can find that will fit in all my vehicles.

So rather then posting an all new thread ill save us all some bandwith with this posting here. I have a 54 cadillac coupe deville. Battery died on me, again. Second one now. Heavy duty rectangular tractor battery if you guys are familiar with it. Now for the question. I want to byp*** buying this battery again because of the sheer inconvenience of trying to find it, move it, and/or have it die on me again. Is relocation of the battery to the trunk too out of the question? Theres no room in the existing spot for anything but that stock battery. =/
