Well, this is mine! I currently own a 49 plymouth 4 door. Not my 1st choice in cars but I ran across it at a good price and it was really clean so I snagged it. 6 months p*** and I come across a 49 Ford 2 door on craigslist that was parked for a couple of years but looks good with new(er) interior. After a few a days I talk the wife into it. Call the guy and he promised it to a guy 5 mins before. I tell him to keep my number in case the deal goes south. 2 more months p*** and I receive a call on the way home from work one day. It is the guy who bought the car. He has a major plumbng issue with his house and needs to let the car go. He had my number in a folder from the guy he bought it off of. I tell the wife I HAVE to at least go look at it this time since it is only an hour away from me now. Was 5 hours away the first time around. Go look at it and bought it for $2900. The guy redid the gas tank and the gas lines, rebuilt the carb and got it running (with a slight miss). Flathead V8. It is the 49 Ford Custom. I have the Plymouth listed for sale and I AM STOKED to finally own a shoebox!!! Here she is! I plan on redoing the brakes, doing a little body work on her and new tires. Then I want to paint it up and drive the hell out of it. On down the road I would love to chop it up. later, josh
