  4. Hey bring that ****in ride on down to Newport Beach and I'll weld some wings on the roof, then we can motor up to the Santa Monica Pier and participate in the Red Bull Flugtag. We can even get real tight pink Affliction t-shirts and wear tilted camo trucker hats with the stickers still on them. Man we will be the raddest dudes ever!!

Ha ha...you old timers crack me up. Do you really think that you guys could persuade me to keep it stock? I am sure you guys have your reasons for factory but that is boring to me. Talk to everybody soon.

You will happy to know that it turned out to be different cars. Maybe that one survived aka stay boring and plain. Mine however is going to get chopped and m***aged. Rescued from its boring existence. Just because my car is 60 years old does not mean it has to stay factory

No, we have Traditional Hot Rods and Customs... but then if you'd have Read This First! you'd have a clue.

You might be the dumbest human that has graced this thread. I had no idea that customs are "the in crowd".

In your opinion...what is "my type"? I really doubt that you have any idea of who I am. What I do know about you is that you are a bitter old man that lacks vision. You stated you "once bought a 51 chevy and chopped it. That must have been when you were young and full of energy. You know.... excited to do different things. You know...when you actually enjoyed life.

So in closing to your little rant...I am sorry that you dislike "my type"...but in reality we are not going see eye to eye which is fine. One thing that I have learned the last 10 years or so talking to real car guys...is that I might not agree with everyones work and cars...but I do appreciate the person who loves and works on his cars, even if our tastes are different.

Instead of saying "you are killing that car" try stepping back and get to know the guy who built it. Listen to his stories. Notice the scar on his right knuckle when you shake his hand. Appreciate that scar cause you have the same one on your hand from all the blood, sweat and tears you have poured into your cars.

i really dont want to respond, but you love to ***ume about us as well.. im probably younger than you...

perhaps you should start over and get a new screen name... ***uming things about people's financial status and bashing people giving good advice is not what this site is about.. we are friends here.. thats why we take things personally and come to each others defense.. flashing what nice cars you might own or how much you spent on something doesnt impress us.. at all..

the chevy we cut up was a $200 car that had been in a field for 20+ years, it was so far from resurecting that it wasnt worth it..

taking a $9k nice car and cutting it up and talking about an LS1 swap isnt very hamb friendly.. we respect things here.. maybe thats too much for you to take in my friend..

** as a side note.. please use the search function.. we respect Ryan and his bandwidth here.. there are probably 30 threads with 49-54 chevys in them.. also there are large differences with thos models, you might wanna study more the model you have, the later models look entirely different**

LS1?? Alright. Now I'm absolutely positive that the same pages that came up during the registration process stating about how this is a traditional site have been disabled or removed. That or everyone just scrolls down and hits Register Now or I Have Read & Accept. Has the lost art of lurking gone away? Does the search function not work for guests, and then when guests join, they ***ume it still doesn't work and go willy-nilly?!

The reason this site exists is for the people who appreciate the origins of hot rodding and customizing. This is pretty much the only reason I have the internet. Here you don't have to wade through mustang, camaro, f-body, k-car, and engines that require adding a "chip" to soup!

No ones saying any of that is bad...but this is Ryan's BBQ, and everybody here loves the way it tastes so there is no reason to change recipes now!

  13. We arent trying to persuade you to keeep it stock, we are trying to tell you that you are on the wrong website. This website is for traditional cars and cars customized in traditional ways.

There is nothing traditional about an LS1, period.
There is nothing traditional about hacking up solid old cars. That tradition died with boyd coddington.

Good luck with building your 'whip'.

I think you should lift it.. Maybe some 26s and a Jolly Rancher paint job.. That would be very young and fun.. since that thing is so boring... if you need some inspiration you can look at a lot of pictures and **** here www.d0uCheyNtRendYwHip$.com/fckoff

How much are you going to chop it is the important question. not that I support cutting up a nice car, but some can be done tastefully and others belong in the fail thread.
