I know it's a mythical place, but how many of you feel like you live in "Koolsville"? I know I do! Customs and Hotrods are being built all around me, and old Ford parts still seem plentiful. (Even if they cost a little more than they did 50 years ago) I went to see one of my friends in my hometown the other day to check out his shoebox progress. I noticed that he had another hood in the barn, and I asked him about it. (I royally screwed mine up!).

He told me I could work it off. I plan on putting his front fenders in primer, and asking if he'd like to french his headlights. Koolsville, man! Doing little things for other guys and getting a fair deal... Building cars like they would have back in the day. I don't know... these times are just as good as any other- you just have to squint a little...

    Hot Rods and Customs RULE!

If I lived in Koolsville, i'd want Von Franco to be my neighbor. Then, instead of borrowing a cup of sugar, i'd just bug him to lay some lines on my ride. I'm about six hours from Koolsville right now.

I believe it! I want to live in Austin for a while.

    That's very true Pat!

Finksville is a suburb. They share the same school system though!

Well I'd say where I live is a lot closer to ****sville than it is to Koolsville. Too much rain, stupid s****pers, and old men who have old cars in their back field with no floors who think that their cars are worth 1000s of dollars.

I've pretty much got the only hotrod in our town of 3500. There's a couple of street rods within a 20-mile radius, but nothing else in the town itself. Cruising gets lonely. LOL

The Wichita area is Koolsville. Lots of cool hot rods of all types. Friendly people (for the most part), 2 drag strips within an hour's drive, the HAMB drags just 3 hours away, easy car registration for a 1948 or older, no annual inspections, a couple of '64 and older car shows, etc. Good place to live for a gearhead.

Where I live I feel like the line from O'Brother where art thou..."this place is a geological oddity...2 weeks from everywhere". Definitely NOT Koolsville....once I mail order what I need because I can't buy it anywhere locally...I can disappear into my garage...only then is it Koolsville..when I'm in my element, wrench in hand, bringing another piece of history back to life!

When I'm in my garage, listening to some jazz, sipping some suds, putting up some new garage art and oh yeah, working on the hot rod, I am cool and definitely in Koolsville...............

    I do. I'm living a dream.

I meet twice a week with old car nuts, breakfast on Wednesdays and Lunch on Thursdays. Which accounts for two mini-car shows a week. After eating it's usually a drive over to somebody's place to help lift a body on/off, or load/unload a motor, along with killing the rest of the day running errands for the better half

In between those social events I'm working on my spare motor whilst drinking beer, along with getting stuff together for the May swaps.

    Life is Good.

I went to a tattoo convention several years ago,Chicago i think it was and i was sitting in a room watching brian everet tattoo. He and jack rudy are beatnicks.
Brian was talking about the caddy he recently finished and i noticed his belt buckle said "beatnicks Koolsville".I asked ,who are the beatnicks and he said We areand points to jack.So where is Koolsville i said.Where ever the beatnicks are was the reply.
So if i was to find it on a map,i would have to say somewhere between new mexico and l.A. if i was to guess from the information i was given
