I'm working on one of my vintage tool boxes. I'm a sucker for Snap-on. Here are some pics of the box that I doing up right now. More to come, Punko
Cool ....keep us posted...I have my Dad's oak machinest tool box he restored. Got to love old tool boxes.
looking good so far. i'm partial to snap on too. that's going to be a great looking box when you're done.
Thanks guys. This particular box was battle ship grey. For a while they most of the small tool boxes were grey and the bigger ones were red. I have another Snap-on box that's wrinkle grey, it's pretty cool too circa '37.
No problem man. The first one is circa '32. On the little boxes there's really no way to exactly know the date of the box. On the cantilever box, Snap-on made that particular one from 32-46 or '48. They'll have Patent No.s and some with serial no.s, but they don't have a date stamp or an insignia stamp, like the tools do. You just need to have some knowledge and trust who you're buying from that the stories are accurate, which most of them are. I bought the cantilever box from an old man that said is was from the early '30's, since I know they started making these boxes in '32, I'm at least confident that the box is between 32/34. Anyway, probably more than you wanted to know, but there it is. Punko
