I've got a quick question, I installed at mr gasket electric fuel pump on my 52 plymouth. The motor is completely stock, still has the carter 1 barrel carb. The pump said its rated for 2 to 3.5 psi. will that be right for my motor? I've got it in and it seems to be flooding the carb. Is it the pump? Or could it be the needle not seating and pouring gas? And could be the pump being too high be causing it to stick open? Thanks guys

I'd be willing to bet you've got too much fuel pressure. Install a regulator with a gauge and dial it down to about 1.5 psi.

Yes you will need to run it through a low pressure regulator. 1.5psi is a good place to start.

You need a regulator as stated......Why a electric fuel pump on a stock motor? Just asking...

Thanks guys, I've ordered a low pressure regulator. Adjustable from 1 to 4. So I'm hoping thatll take care of it.

The mechanical pump went bad and I was rewiring and redoing the fuel lines and stuff so I figured I would just throw an electric one on. Much easier to find an inline electric pump than a mechanical one for it.
