Hey all, Have lurked around quite a bit in the past, but now I'm getting serious. I've just gotten a '34 Chevrolet Standard 4 door, pretty much virgin car, can't tell if much of anything has been molested on it. It's got 50k miles on it and I REALLY want to keep it original and do things right as I slowly go along. Even set on keeping it 6 volt.. I've researched a lot about this car and have found some answers but still have a lot of questions that I will need the knowledge from the past. Right now I'm just getting acquainted with all the specs / build of the car just making sure I understand as much as I can before I get into it, it's killing me. I haven't even gotten a jack under the car!! I'm hoping to help out in areas I can while I'm here. I've done a couple engine rebuilds and V8 swaps in s-10s, so I know my way around bloody knuckles and fuel injection.
Welcome from High Point, we do a monthly breakfast at the Moose Cafe in Greensboro at the farmers market, link here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=501 Also there is a car show every Thursday night in High Point at Kagan's Furniture on Main St, just drive down main, can't miss it, always a good turn out with a variety of nice cars and trucks....
Thanks All! hotrod1970, been there before but it's been a while. Last time I was down there was 02/03.. Had my little grey s-10, stayed after the show.. Was afraid to drive back to High Point after that. I work right around the corner from the Farmer's Market, will check the link out. I started a thread on the car trying to extract as much information on it as I can. I already found out it's a 35 (oops!) and it's numbers matching. Still have yet to turn a wrench on it but the honey-do list is shrinking at record pace!!
welcome from concord! come on down sat for the Hot Rods and Hot Cakes! it'll be a good time, we have a little local car show going on that day too!
Welcome from Richmond, VA. Raleigh boy living in exile, but that's what happens when you marry a Meredith College girl who's away from home.
Preciate it everyone! BillyBobs, I'm right behind the Embassy Suites, so seriously right around the corner! I'll let you know when I get the 35 rolling, will definitely be driving it to work randomly. I'm going to try and make it this Thursday to the show, unfortunately the 35 has yet to even had a nut/bolt turned on it. I have pulled the numbers and polished a corner of the cab, that's about as far as I've gotten.
What's up all? Creepr, I was down your way beginning of this month in Buford wiring up a 94 LT1 into a 93 Jeep Wrangler. Wish I had time to hang out @ Road Atlanta instead of that driveway..
