So, I've spent my last three days off getting the '36 ready to take up the Conquerors Car Show in Lansing, MI, this weekend. I've gotten the seat backs actually looking pretty good, made a very nice display plaquard with the HOT ROD feature matted and framed, a heavy duty easel, and stantions to keep kids from smearing their grubby paws all over it. I guess it's as ready as it's ever gonna be... http://flynbrian48.wordpress.com/
How about some more information on this show. Might be intersted in getting a few guys together and coming over for it. Frank
It's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Lansing Center, downtown. Google "Conquerors Car Show", the homepage will pop right up. They also have a facebook page. Re: the fence, that's a good idea, I should get a "DANGER! High Voltage!" sign to hang on the rope!
I know John Denich hates them....Trophys rolling all over the floor,on the way home! That just ****s....haha!
They charge you to show your car? ****, you chould charge them. Hope you -- and everyone else with a nice car -- have learned a lesson. Someone is making money... and it ain't you. Tell the show people to stuff it.
Nice PT Cruiser... If someone posts pics of you at the show with Gold Chains...we're ALL gonna collectively smack you back to reality!
Frank, www.lansingautoshow.com or on Facebook as Conqueror's II Check out the Wheeler Deeler for an ad and coupon for $1.00 off the normal $6.00 admission. Love to have a bunch of people show up. Be sure to check out the history of the guys putting on the show. Brian
Car looks killer as usual, but damn man, I didn't know you owned the wagon and that Spartan! I couldn't get enough of them at the Red Barns Spect. this past summer. Some people have all the fun, You ****!
Right up front on this one. THE SHOW PROMOTERS WILL MAKE ZERO ON THIS SHOW. PERIOD! It a non-profit. Any proceeds are being donated Ray lost a fair amount of $ on the last show and has no remorse. They did two shows in '57 and in '58 and wanted a reunion of sorts. So considered it a big party / reunion. Anybody want to see the expenses? It can be arranged. The Lansing Center gets huge money to rent their space. Advertising is huge money. Many donated just to have the show and didn't want to put a car into the show. Now that said. It's really sad to think that someone might want to put something like this on, no strings attached just to have a good time. Then someone has to piss on all the damn fun. These guys are all retired. Made their money. All were hot rodders in their day. Still like this stuff. Big shows in big markets that are established might be able to pay for star cars to show up but this is Lansing, not Detroit or L.A. These guys for a year and a half have busted their collective ***es to put this on and I'm damned honored to call them friends. I'm also damned thankful for the owners that pony-ed up the cash to make this show a success.
See, you need a flatbed trailer so you can take both to the show and have a smart answer for the guys who ***** that you trailered a car there.
