i have remodled a few houses but your idea of the big old's carved in granite has to be the most original and personal idea i have ever seen. i would never thought to do what you have done. great call!

Denise, Your kitchen looks great! The etched stone is beautiful. I think I'll try something like that in our new house...
Greg's work is flawless as usual.

I saw in in person over the weekend and it really does look fabulous, the pics don't do it justice. When she first mentioned the idea I thought it was going to look bad-- gothic, morbid, you get the drift. But it didn't turn out looking like a tombstone afterall ;) :D

Very nice!! rest of the kitchen looks good also. Try taping a single layer of tissue over your camera flash or cover half of it with your finger. It will cut down on the glare. You should be able to get a better pic that way.

That's an incredible piece of work. Check on what to clean it with, I don't think you're supposed to use windex. It would be a shame to have it damaged.

Wow stunning work.It is hard enough to draw on paper or even paint. But to get that kind of detail in stone truely displays some serious talent.Looks really nice Denise.

My kind of work, Hot Rods and Tile Work but I never thought I'd see them together like that!

Extraordinary artwork!! I've seen this type of stone etching work done by digital and computerized machinery and the fact that Greg can do this by hand is something to see and appreciate even more. What a special talent.

BTW, If you need any tips on grouting, send me a PM.

The back splash is looking awesome Dee. The pieces that Greg did for me look "exactly" like the pictures of my cars. I don't know how he does it. It really looks like photographs transfered onto the granite. Oh yeah, mine were a gift from some of my HAMB buds.

That's a great idea, maybe on alittle smaller pieces like 8 x 8 or something. All you guys can have one made of your cars for your wife as a gift.:D

THANKS! PM me your address and I'll get a switchplate out to you.

Seems like that's all I've been meeting. ;):p

    That would be so funny!!!:D

I've got other ideas as well, especially if a person didn't want one big piece they could do smaller pieces ****tered thoughou the whole backsplash OR a long row of granite pieces with a whole car scene in them as an accent.

I did turn the flash off at one point. I think the camera had a tough time focusing on it cuz of the glare.....I don't know

Thanks bud, that would be so cool! I'll pick out a few of my favorite photos and get them to you.

I'll check on line what I should use for all my granite. I've been using a spray cleaner but your right, I should check to make sure it's safe to use with granite. Thanks

any tips you could throw my way would be greatly apprecaited. I've only done it once on a small bar top. The rest I've learned on DIY Network:D

You're right;) You know that steel counter top we were all leaning on at Billys? I'm seriously am going to do that for my kitchen island.

    One or two :D

I hope you get up here soon bud!

What size motor do you have in Big Olds?? Isn't it a 455? Look at the time on the stove. Kinda looks like it was meant to be.

Yes he does. I didn't even notice that on the stove, very cool.

Hung? I actually just picked it up from Enjenjo on Saturday. I'll have to come up with some sort of brackets, then I can hang. I've got to finish the kitchen first before I can start playing with outdoor stuff. It is painted the root beer brown metallic you suggested. XOXOX
