My last A build used an easy to get thompson kit. Wont be doing it again. The new build is a full fender sedan. Can i use a f100 steering box and Hoop Style Steering Arm? I'll crawl back in my corner and hang my head in shame for asking. thanks in advance
Sounds doo-able but i cant say from experiance, but i dont see why not dont care for the vega cross steer thing?
gotcha.. wouldnt that f-100 set up be concitered .."mustang style" steering? it should work ..much like the original set up , although alot stonger
I dont understand what you ment by that? too many zeros? (did you mean for the vega set up?) werent you talking f100? at least thats what i read in post #1 (Lono) "The new build is a full fender sedan. Can i use a f100 steering box and Hoop Style Steering Arm" (Lono)
I am using a 48-52 f100 box and arm on my A pick up and using the "hoop" style arm from Speedway, seems like it is goin to work great.
Fatboy, you running full fenders? F100 truck box VonRigg fink. Disregard by bad too many zeros joke.. to hard to explain. Comedy is out, Keeping my day job.
hahaha ok man,, i was shaking my head a lil bit on that one yep f-100 is a truck box what i ment by "mustang style" steering is the "style" not the "equipment" it is the style of steering you are using,, as in the "old Mustang boxes"..not M2's
The F-1 and F100 boxes are different. This is an F-1 box in a 34 Ford. Disregard the box used to clear the starter motor on this particular installation. This is an F100 box in a 32. Notice the pitman arms are different. I think the F1 was used in the book "How to build a traditional Ford hot rod" and it is a Model A. The book might be helpful for you. This is how it been done for over 50 years now.
I thought the F100 came out in 53. That would mean you are using a F1 box? So you do indeed have too many zeros! Bill.
