  1. Here are a few pictures we shot today of the 31 coupe.. We are closing in on finishing it.. Updates here show the 6 inch chop and a closer finished 59 impala dash and the custom 32 grille shell insert we made..

Questions: (not trying to be a ****)

    1) What's going in the rear that you need such a substantial structure?

    2) Is the suspension adjustable? How do you drive it that low with such a long wheel base??

The dash looks cool in there! Do you have plans for a steering wheel that will complement the dash work and/or era you're building to? What's the plan for seats? With the dash, wheel-tire combo, etc. I bet a tuck and rolled bench would look *****in' in there.

Looks kind of low for a street car, no?

IF it were mine, I'd raise the ride height a little bit and I wouldn't have choppd it more than 4"- but variety IS the ****e of life. *shrug*

Hope its gonna be a air ride car. It wouldn't last a around the block trip in Iowa , unless the owner has stock in a oil pan company. It does have some visual presence though.

    well the name sure fits...slaughtered....

  9. For everyone who likes to be a ****... Of course it doesnt look driveable the coils on the rear are adjusted completely out! We havent got to setting the ride height yet and in case you didnt notice the floor isnt done the lakester headers are not on hell the windshield isnt in.. Yes we are rolling the seats into the floors with sheetmetal and making leather pads for driving.. Anyone who thinks this car isnt driveable come to beatersville may 30th in louisville ky. We are driving the car to the next state to that show.. After we raise it up 4 inches that is..were going to change the steering wheel eventually but the wheel and tire combo will stay the same.. Nothing beats pie crust cheater slicks and coakers in front to me..

Whats the ride height now? 4in wow I wish I could get away with that the Iowa roads after the Iowa winters wont put up with that.

  12. i could see in your post you wasnt trying to be strange agent i just hate the people on this site that has no clue what goes into building a car like this and when you show progress like we did just because of a few pms we got asking for updates every now and then everyone thinks that unfinished car is on the streets and we are driving all over the place in it.. never mind it has no headers or floor or even shifter?? i guess they didnt even take time to notice this car is by far not finished..

I think you could have avoided a lot of the criticism by posting that info in your first post.

  14. hahahahahahahahahhahahaha i bet you drive your rear wheel drive under 2000 pound truck there in winter snow.. You know even if you do im just letting you know this car will never see snow so im not worried about your winters or mine.. the car will be 5 inches off the ground..

Hope you didn't take what I was saying as being a ****. Was mostly just interested in what's in store for the car.

Myself, I do get the amount of work that goes into something like this and I think the work shows where time and energy has been spent.

As for the remarks by people that you mentioned, if you like what you're building, don't take offense. Just do a good job and show people what you're capable of. I'm sure not everyone likes my build either, but I know it's important to stick to "the vision". I also have tried to keep an open mind along the way to what people say around here. There are a lot of great builders here and a lot of builders I have tons of respect for. When they speak, I listen, and process rather or not it's worth listening to. Had I not done this, I would not have learned a thing...

    Good luck with your build!

  23. No not at all i was simply answering your questions.. i forgot the one about the frame in the rear.. i think you were asking why the frame is so heavily reinforced?.. unless i misunderstood.. The car will also be setup to race on a track.. The engine was professionally built by DEI and is a gas hog.. We are going to have a 13 gallon gas tank we just ordered from speedway setup.. Its just a car to drive and have fun with.. Were not trying to shatter any speed records or anything but it has alot of torque so we wanted a nice looking frame that was built to hold a heavily built engine..

Dude I hope you don't catch too much flack but your ride isn't what is considered a "Traditional" rod by any means. I hate to refer to the RR word but don't get suprised if others on here label it as that. I could pick on ya but thats not my thing. I can appreciate the work in the frame.

  26. I would love someone to call it a rat rod... Thats one of those unsafe not well built cars right.. Haha this car may not be traditional but it has top dollar parts through and through.. The frame is built like a tank it has 4 corner disc brakes super bell drop axle reversed corvair steering box speedway column all the floor pans will be just like the doors beed rolled for strength the engine was built by dei its center balanced and blue printed i dont even want to get into how much radir pie crust cheaters are and coaker wide whites on the front...

I respect the work that has gone into it for sure but its just not my style. To much of a chop and I would give the air cleaner to a friend and use something a little more traditional.

How may years did it take to get your engine back from DEI, that guy rips off alot of people, including a few HAMBers.....Been by their shop to talk to them for a guy on here that had paid and had not gotten his stuff for months. Professional? Not in the least.
