What a damn day! I took a couple hours off from work, dug my Halibrand wheels (Real Rodders Wheels) out of the ba*****t, dug my Hurst tires out of the barn and brought them down to be mounted. I need them to prototype the frame setup this weekend - so I can complete the rear end hangers, P&J style hairpins and the same for the front. Just routine **** - trying to move a project along. Now mind you - I've had this **** for 2.5 years . . . bought them (thank God) when the economic times were better. So, I think I can visualize what they'll look like all mounted -- nothing new here, been done before . . . but I underestimated the visual impact of these timeless pieces. Holy ****! When I went back to pick them up I was totally F***ing geeked . . . just amazing works of art they are to look at! Mucho Gracias to Real Rodders Wheels and Hurst tires . . . some good **** here brother. This made my damn week! Raced home, cracked a cold one and took these pictures . . . about the only thing better in my eyes is a polished set of Ardun valve covers or maybe a polished Halibrand V8 Quickie (but these are a close second). It is days like this that inspire and motivate us to get our damn hotrods on the road . . . time to kick it in. Here yah go --- this is a 'Friday Art Show' if there ever was one . . . I'm a fortunate ******* to have bought these in better times - not a chance in hell in this economy. Enjoy . . . I think I'll go lather up a buffalo B&S
60's style chopped 34 coupe -- in the era/style of the Mooneyham/Sharp 554 coupe, though definitely not a 'clone' (this is a street car with race heritage). Running a blown 392 Hemi, Donovan fuel heads, etc.. Doing as much work as I can - a long multi-year process . . . partly because the older I get, the more patient I am and the more of a perfectionist I've become! This is all about the art, culture, people and experience . . . as much as the final product. Even with doing as much work myself as possible, need to space the funds/time outlay out . . . could never 'pay' to have somebody build me a car and wouldn't if I could anyway. Though I'm happy for the guys that pay the Pro shops and pay for all design/engineering of many of the parts we use . . . we need them just like they need us.
