Running a king chrome 12v alternator with the stock type battery from. Long narrow rectangular one =) Original 331 engine. This battery lasted me just over two years after buying it to replace the original. I did have a stereo installed about two years ago as well and it includes a setup of 2 12 inch subs and a 1100 w amp to a deck in the glove box. Now I dont know if this is the reason for my current battery dying on me but the bottom line is that my battery will no longer retain its charge and im trying to buy the right battery for the current setup im running. I also run an auxillary fan in stop and go traffic. Anyone have any advice or previous experience with this? Id love to stick an optima red or yellow top in there but theres no room. =/
Interstate Battery has them...12 volt. (Same as the 53 Olds takes) Town and Country has the 6 volt ones. HellRaiser
If your not worried about "stock looking" what I did is put one of those small Wallmart Honda I think batteries and it worked fine and I'll bet it has more power than one of those long old things. Lots cheaper and you can get them anywhere.
No worries on keeping it looking stock. I mean the alternator isnt stock ^_^ Ill stop by walmart on the way home and check those out. Thanks alot for the advice and ill let you guys know how it works out.
