58 chevy help

I was in a yard taking parts off a 58 chevy 4 dr sdn Biscayne the other day and found a radio speaker control knob on the far right of the dash board.....I think it controls the volume between front and rear speakers....is this an aftermarket or factory original (knobs match)...or is this a dealer add on...or a special order pc????.....stan

 

I have the exact car and I'm having a hard time seeing that extra knob.........its on the flat part of the dash towards the p***enger door?

 

The rear speaker selector switch is a factory option. It was located about two inches to the right of the clock.

 

could the knob be for a reverb unit?

Yep. Controls the front/back balance.It's a fairly rare option.

Sooo weird! You didn't happen to get the ashtray out of that car didja? I need one, mine was high jacked by some idiot restoring an impala....I know Because he came back for the rest of the dash.

 

I may have an ashtray- I'll look when I get home next week.
