Thought I'd share a few pics of a neat lil' car a freind of mine's dad built back in the late 50's-early 60's....
Story goes, he wanted a Corvette, but couldn't afford one, so he built his own...:D He drove it back and forth to work at Boeing for many years, selling the car in @ 1965 and hasn't seen it since. The car was never finished, but it went through many changes, as noted on the spec sheet.:)
It may not be the prettiest of homebuilt sportscars, but a cool example of what a regular guy with some good skills could build back in the day...

I started a thread about this too. Mine was '53 Merc Quarters with 12" quarters extensions, on a unknown ford ch***is. '50 Lincoln fenders, a back gl*** for a windsheild, '51 Merc door skins, and a Mercury flathead. It was street driven for a couple of years. The guy who built it later owned an ***ortment of '60's sports cars, so I guess this is what he was trying to recreate in his younger days.

    Me too.....
The builder isn't really into old hotrods/customs anymore....restores oddball '20's cars now. But this is one of those cars that he'd get a kick out of knowng if it were still around.:)

Very cool! I think that's pretty well built! I recognized that grill instantly, too!

I've always wanted to build my own using 50's car leftovers, too. One of these days, maybe! ;)
