    Hey Dudes
here is a small progress update.. shifter is in but the mustang 5 speed shifter location is so far back on the trans that it was almost hitting the seat. I cut the stock shift handle stub off short, machined a 1"dia X 1" tall collar that slide over it, drilled and tapped a 5/16 hole on center in the stub to lock the collar. A 3/4 "dia rod X 3" long was welded to the collar towards the front and my 24" shifter bolts the that. The shifter has one of my mini moon tank knobs, this was the first one I made and it was in the B-line truck, looks right at home in the deuce. The pedals needed to be shortened and welding was not an option so I machined them to lock together and bolted them. Today will be floors!!

    more later

all day Saturday and a couple hours today and the aluminum floor is in place, the plan is to cover the center area of the floors with ribbed rubber mats with a stainless trim ring around them to hold them down... either engine turn or brush the aluminum. I worked at moving the seat back and this made the room I needed between the shifter and the front of the seat..so the shifter extension is gone. The pebble finish aluminum is going on the tunnel and smaller detail pieces.

Wow! How in the heck did I manage to miss this thread? Way cool dude. My fav of the '32s is the three window. Good job on resurecting this one.

Kirk, Looks like you are making some great progress. Neat how you are including quite a few of your own parts. Looking forward to seeing your coupe at Bonneville.

Wow! This is awesome. I have been getting a bit bogged down on my on build, but man oh man, I am inspired now! Who needs five hour energy drinks when there are great fabricators, artists, like this on the hamb! Thank you. Peter

finished up the tunnel tonight.... I wanted it to look die stamped with radiuses on all the edges, I think with a little more grinding it will look good. I went a different direction that what I had first planned and decided not to use the pebble finish aluminum, this will just get painted..I think

I know... I should be working on the car not this but I needed to do something fun. I gutted this old heater and will use it for the fuse panel and a small glove box, It looks a bulldog or a tiki head.

Im shocked and sad to say that I did not know that Mike had passed or that he had cancer, I never personally met Mike but talked to him on the phone a couple different occasions and he was very kind, My heart goes out to his family.

    Hey Scooter!! Im still kickin!!

Finished up today's project...the gas pedal. I pulled out my old eeclo hydraulic throttle for the ol 32 and it really fit nice up under the dash. I will change out those nasty looking machine screws for allen heads or use set screws...they are holding the pedal onto the bushing that slips over the end of the Schroeder box. I can almost put a big fat DONE stamp on this area!!

I just got finished reading from start to finish. I can only say .... great work so far.

I feel spoiled that the '46 cpe. body I bought out of Ks. was in such good shape. No cancer or panel replacing or straightening.

You've done a bang up job .... and the cast items are over the top.

You know, as long as you've got the body done why don't you take a casting off of it and make the world's first CAST 1:1 scale '32 3 window? You certainly have the talent to pull it off!!!
