Here are a few links to some eBay auctions with dash parts for a 64 Lincoln Continental. I looked in all the usual places online to see if I could find a price for one but came up with nothing. Anyone know if these are decent prices? Thanks!

I am not sure what these are going for but the condition looks pretty good and if you can score them of close to the existing bids you will be doing good. There is quite a bit of time left and sometimes the last 12 hours will tell you how things will go. Good Luck

    Hey there,

Yes, they do look in very good condition, and the prices are very good for now, but they will probably go up. The only problem I see is the fact that they are dark brown. 64/65 dark brown is a "rare" color, which really means that no one wanted that color back then either. Is this the color you need?? My buddy had a 64 with that same color, and to me, it was not very appealing. But to answer the question again, they do look like they are in fine shape, and I know they normally go for more than what the current bids are. Hope this helps.

No it isn't the color I want. The dash in the car has been beaten down by the Arizona sun and is cracked up pretty bad. The car is dis***embled right now and before it goes back together I was toying with the idea of some sort of custom dash. I like the bottom half of the stock dash, but I'm not crazy about that pad. I thought maybe the one on eBay would be a good base to do some customizing to. I just bought the car, and it was in pieces when I got it, so I haven't spent much time looking at the dash, do you think the material on it could hold any sort of paint to get rid of that nasty brown?

Yes, you can use "vinyl" paint for the padded parts and regular spray paint for the metal if you like. A word to the wise...the 64/65 are the "worst" years built. Personally, I love the 64 style, but it can be a nightmare, mainly electrically. My buddy had one and it had a dash fire because everything is wired through the amp gauge. When the cardboard over 40yrs decintigrates, the wires touch and can short and a fire may start...bad design. I have two great lincoln hook ups here in Florida, and neither one likes to work on the 64/65. It seems that the car was built around that dashboard. Another fun fact...in order to drop the gas tank, you must lower the dif; really fun. I am not trying to scare you; all cl***ics have their "common problems" but these just seem to be a ***** for the small quirky ****. But they did come standard with power vents [IMG]) How is the over all condition of the car and its mechanics? Trust me, with the quirks, they are all (61-67) great cars and are VERY reliable drivers. But like luxury cars today, the "luxury" features can be expensive to replace. Feel free to PM if you would like more info.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't end up getting the dash parts on eBay. They shot up over $125 in the last minutes! The car is in pieces right now so we'll go through the dash very carfully when we put it back together. I'll give her a proper introduction hopefully within a month or so. Thanks again for the advice.
