Just fired up the 354 in my truck. It's got 2 Holley 94s on an original Marine 2x1 intake that I hogged out to fit the 2 barrels. The engine seems to be running rich once up to operating temperature(idles ok but when running down the road it is acting like it is loading up.) Any opinions about whether the carbs are too much or what? Can they be rejetted to some success? I'm running straight linkage; no progressive stuff here! Thanks,Al
94's are only 150 or so cfm each so they are not too much for your engine. Check your fuel pressure, no more than 3 psi. max. The Chrysler stock pump probably puts out too much fuel pressure so you will need a regulator.
Quick formula, 1.5 CFMs per CI...354, you could use 500 plus CFMs..You have a HEMI and they like lots of air starting around 1,200 RPMs..I think your way under with the CFMs..Fuel pressure maybe, if you have air cleaners on take them off and see what happens.. Duane..
im trying to set up a 6x2 right now and im using smaller jets on the secondaries, but i dont know if thats as big of a deal since your only running 2 carbs. maybe try smaller jets on both. also, one other possibility could be your power valves. make sure they are both the same and the correct size. hope that helps. matt.
Hey Al, I'd really like to see a pic of your set up. I was going to incorporate the same manifold on my 354 for my 1958 Dodge D400 but was changing my mind. Did you happen to get a pic of the hogged out area? I just sold my 2x1 but have another sitting back in Iowa. Thanks, Steve Tracy, CA
