ok this is not the original car. tes it is the one mark moriarity had. no he did not start it. it was started by a guy named mike scott in mn. he gets credit for the ROUGH gl*** work and starting the axles and frame.

ive been working on this car a year and didnt want it known until i was sure it would be completed. finding all the correct parts and blowing a new bubble was proving to be a challange.

i hope everyone digs it, as this is a tribute to big daddy.

as for an intro... sorry but i **** at these things and am a lot happier in my shop building stuff.

I think for building a car like that, you should be an honorary HAMBer, and no intro should be required. Awesome work, it's dead on. Can't wait to see finished pictures!!

Tribute, original, it's all a matter of semantics.
This IS gonna be the hot rod story of the mid noughts.
Maybe the Large Father hated that car, maybe it was underdeveloped, it doesn't matter, the fact that it was recreated is a testement that we all love Big Ed Daddy Roth very much. Roth lives, and this here's the proof.

God bless everyone who is a part of this story, my hat couldn't possibly be doffed anymore than it is now.

Am I ***** for crying right now?

That thing RULES. Is this a rebuild, or was the o.g Mysterion found?

That is such an amazing piece of work. Back in the 60's The Mysterion left legions of us kids picking their jaws up off the floor! It turned a whole generaton into motorheads! It made Big Daddy a God! It made Revell a fotune.! It made automotive design an art!
This car will do it all over again!! Thank You for bringing that monster to life! I knew it was in the works, but I didnt know it was so near complete. I gotta see it in real life!

Only two posts and the intro police are on your ***. You could be Elvis freakin' Presley come back to life, and they don't know who you are of course, and they're trying to run you off. Incredible!

i don't have any good pics of his Henry J (cause he did'nt keep it long enough for me to get any [IMG]) but this is it after someone RUINED it with vinyl stickers and decided to sell it on Ebay. Dave built this ENTIRE car including paint. the only thing here that he did not do is the stupid logos and graphics...

Aww man that thing had a killer stance and looked awesome sans the **** stickers [IMG] wtf why can't people leave a ****in car alone when it didn't need any thing [IMG]

  16. Unless the Mysterion is still lurking out there, this IS the Mysterion.

Mystery Fink, I hope you enjoyed any free time you had before you built this car, it's the last you'll see for a loooong time.

You guys rock. I can't wait to see both of these in person. Seems like there is gonna be a big HAMB turnout for this show. Anything going on as a group so I can put some names and faces together? About five years ago I saw an old car claiming to be the beatnik bandit II with a bubbletop advertised in the Auto Roundup magazine for $4500. I'm betting you guys know what happened to that car?

Awesome! Does this involve the cookies I keep reading about!!?!?!?! I'm a fan of the Scooby snacks...
I know the guy that owned the Henry J when the decals were put on it and I'm with ya on likin it better without them but they are just vinyl like the ricer kids use and should be able to be easily removed. The car has been sold at least once more since he owned it so maybe they aren't even on there anymore. I thought that knowledge might help some. He's the same guy I got that valiant g***er from twe weeks ago.

  23. Great looking recreation Dave.

The Autorama is gonna be a time warp this year!

Oh, and welcome to the HAMB

  30. Fantastic work. It's actually better than the original. As everyone knows the original Mysterion was nonoperative. Does this one run?
