Yeah, thats right another new guy here from Waterloo, Iowa. It feels good to finally stop lurking and post. This is by far the best and most informative message board that I have ever seen dedicated to a true custom car culture.
Welcome! Hope to meet ya at the Des Moines Good Guys on 4th of July! How about Back to the 50s? THat is an amazing show to head up to! If you are into traditional hot rod shows - make a road trip down to the Rust Revival....... if you need more info on good shows - let me know
well hello, long time no see. Thanks for showing me this great site, it is awesome! Im sure we will be making most of the car shows "cool stuff" mentioned.. for sure!
Absolutely, I was at vintage torque fest. my friend TJ aka (highrolla7) made the trek over from Waterloo. John put on an amazing show. I only have one suggestion for the show and that is to get a hawaiian tan booth. I am still peeling. I wish I could attend the rust revival, back to the fifties, and so on. It took a lot of convincing for my wife to even let me go to vintage torque fest. Since we are still working on our crazy house renovation. Hopefully as soon as that is done I will be able to attend more shows and start working on a project car. My dad has a friend that is a big mopar guy and has a few 40's dodges in his barn. He is willing to part with (dont know for sure what year) 46-48 dodge 2 door sedan. It is a fairly clean car and hopefully have a 440 dropped in it. So if any one has any suggestions on how I should build the car let me know. Your input would be appreciated.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the welcome. It is awesome to see there are so many fellow Iowans here on this site. I hope that John and vintage torque fest will be a great start to so called non tradition hot rod shows here in Iowa.
