I know this might bring flames, but I figured if I didn't ask nothing would get done... Are there any hambers in the central texas area(I'm in new braunfels) willing to help out a youngin' with some body work? My car has rust, crappy paint, dents and bends...stuff that someone with experience wouldn't have a problem with, but that I alone can't(and shouldn't) touch. If someone is willing to help, teach me some things, drink some beer, awesome. If not, oh well, it was worth a shot. Edit: Thanks for the suggestions.
Yea, he's right. Change the title to "Free Beer" or "Wanna see some titties?" You'll have a ton of guys looking!
they are giving you very good advice, and it worked i looked .haha. love beer hate body work why don't you drive it over to the outcast party this weekend, and we can get someone to work on it.not sure if your car is on the road or not, but if it is at least you could get to hang out with some of the coolest guys in texas.
Nah, not roadworthy unfortunately. Actually, the only thing that needs to be fixed is the exhaust and it would pass inspection I'm pretty sure. But the shifter (3 on the tree) is very loose and just isn't comfortable to drive. Glad the beer thing is working, maybe it'll bait someone who likes bodywork.
you should change the title,,,FREE BEER is false advertising and may make some members upset.maybe try "NEED SOME HELP IN TEXAS"
Ya, I'm one of those guys that likes to drive their car legally...silly, I know. But with my other car payment, rent, and school, I can't afford tickets.

Oh ya, it's a 64 Dodge Dart Convertible, 225 slant six. Not really in line with the rest of the cars here but I like it, it's definately different.
you should come check out the party anyways it's not that far.it's the outkast after christmas party.you'll find somebody that lives near you that is into doing body work.
So If your from NB why the hell did you put Segin. Whats your real name? You should stop by Landa Automotive and talk to Jimmy Ackerman he might be able to help you out. There is also my buddie Steve who lives on Walnut st.. between San Antonio St. and business 35 ( when the 47 Chevy truck is in the driveway he's home ) Those two people should be able to get you in the right circles in that area.
I just got a place in NB, power and everything is being turned on in the next week or two. I'll try to get ahold of those guys, thanks for the tip.
There is also a guy ( Jim Waltman ) lives off 1101 before you get to 123 . Red metal building on the right hand side good guy to know, he does paint and body. I used to hang out down the road at Saengerhalle all the time. Next door to Clear springs used to be a punk rock bar years ago. I lived ( grew up off of 1044 in Marion )
I went to school in Geronimo(Navarro) on 123, pretty familiar with the area, shouldn't be too hard to find Jim.
The BIG one is the drivers side rear wheel well. Jesus must have blessed it, cause it's holy. That area is a common problem for these cars, but instead of fixing it right, the original owner did a shite bondo job and it looks like it got eaten up. I'll take some pictures of it. Also, along the doors it's gettin eaten up, you can see the what I'm talking about at the bottom of the passenger door He filled dips in the sheetmetal with pounds of bondo. A 1' x 1' area on the trunk lid was bondo because of a dip in the metal. And at some point in Jackie's life, the top frame broke and they "fixed" it, by fixed I mean it's now a mangled mess of metal where they welded it back together, and I just dont trust the thing to not fall on me while I'm driving down the highway. I'm sure there are other things he or his son did to it that I don't know about and I want to fix it right. No point in having and fixing a car that you love if you're just going to give it the short end of the stick. But I don't have the knowledge or skills to fix it.
