  2. I don't believe that car is sectioned. As far as hood and lights go they are pretty basic. There are no real tricks to what I did here. To explain a section job and and be clear about it you almost need to be showing on the car what to do. I can tell you it's a Large under taking even for an experianced Body guy. I had this car all layed out in my Head but my Brother talked me out of doing it. Once my 57 is done I plan to go ahead and cut this the way I wanted to. That's a year or two down the road.

im gonna chop my '49 first. then nose the hood and around the grill, then french the tail lights/headlights, shave the doors, notch the frame, and lastly bag it. if im still not happy with the look then im gonna section it. if you have any tips, common problems, or purchases that would make any of this easier; please share. is it necessary to notch the frame, and channel the body for it to lay on the ground with the bags????

  4. Not knowing your sheet metal skills I can only say how I'd do things. I don't lap weld, most do. First find the widest point of the body and use it as a center line for the total amount your going to remove. The section above the rear wheel house is the most difficult to do. Do not cut through the door skins, remove the spot welds on the lower half and just shorten the door frame. Cut the section amount off the bottom of the skin and re fold over the lip. I'm going to remove the firewall from the top of the toe board to the top pinch weld and build a new one. Front fenders will only get the lower back end cut and re worked. I'm going to lower the core support in tact with the bumper mounts and shorten the inner fender panels on the lower edge. Simple eh?
