hey guys sorry for being off topic but does anybody know if the windshields would fit a 40 ford pickup? Im asking because i would like to have the stainless all around the windshield and i dont think mine ever came with the stainless all around from the factory.

  5. No--'40-'47 truck windshield is same as '40 car. The '40 windshield does not open like the '39 and earlier windshields. The gl*** mounts to the lip around the windshield opening with a rubber gasket. The '37-'39 truck windshield frames are same as '37-'39 car--the gl*** mounts in a windshield frame that is hinged at the top and opens out at the bottom by means of a windshield regulator mechanism.

I like the grille also, but the three beltline beads are super ***y!

  9. Wow, what a great deal! I wish I would have started with more then just a cab and doors on my 38 build as I would have been money and time ahead. Definitely subscribing to this thread.

The belt line is a super close second on my list.

A great buy! One of the most unfavored pickups now seeing their popularity rising after decades of being used as parts trucks.
And you seem to have gotten a particularly nice one to start! Congratulations.
AND, for juice brakes you just change the backing plates, add brake hoses X3, brake lines, 39 pedal ***embly IF you're keeping the flattie, 40 if you're not. Brake hub/drum ***emblies from 37-39 are interchangeable.

Ive got all the sheet metal to build one. I was gonna put it on a newer ranger ch***is. But now I really need to get rid of the thing. bad part is I have quite a bit wrapped up in it. They are WAY cool in my opinion.

    One of my favorites.
