For me, the Lonestar Round-Up is about more than just the cars... while it's true that the cars are a BIG part of the weekend... it's the overall sights, smells and sounds of the weekend that I look forward to the most. Seeing my extended family in Austin every April is something I look forward to all year. I've never missed a Round-Up and hopefully I never will. Starting the weekend off at Reggie's and seeing that big welcoming smile of his makes me feel like I am at home or at a family reunion... yeah, that's it... for me, the Round-Up is basically a big family reunion. So, here's a link to my 2010 Lonestar Round-Up Family Reunion photo page: http://www.monstrosityfoto.com/lsru2010.html hc
Jeff, thanks for sharing your eye with the rest of us. Also, thanks for playing at the A.S.S. party.....you guys sounded great as usual! Looking forward to seeing more of you in Austin, John
If you can't tell, I really had fun shooting the mini-bike races... Seems like everyone and the pope was out pointing and shooting the car show on Saturday. I get so caught up hanging out with friends and making memories that I usually don't get a ton of car coverage these days... cars come and go, friendships make Round-Up memories. hc
Hankcash... you've got skills. I really admire your "eye" and composition of your photos. I'm a new fan, nice work.
Not anymore... I have my film procesed and uncut, then I scan everything in with a film scanner. best of both worlds! hc
Thanks guys... I still have a few photos to come. Jen (wife) left for New Orleans with another camera that had some film still in it from the Round-up... We'll see what's on that roll next week. hc
What great photos and the mini bike stuff is great. I think the new tradition for mini bike races should be costumes as well. I am going to start this next year when I go and bring my mini bike. Just got to figure out how to fit it in the coupe for the drive out there.
I made a cape for my jacket with an old T-shirt but it did look a little strange. I wanted to also wear a super suit, but the wife nixed that. I think it would be funny to include some crazy outfits in the race. I guess the only thing is the jacket gloves rule. Jeff, I guess the tux jacket and white gloves would meet requirements!
As long as you credit "Monstrosity Foto". Shoot me an email to wood@monstrosityfoto.com with the ones you would like and I'll send you the hi-res files. hc
