Hi, I have a 2100 that I just rebuilt and put back on my 352. Before the rebuild, it would hesitate accelerating through corners. Now that I have rebuilt it, it starts much better/easier than it did before, but when it's in drive, it stalls out when I give it gas.

I adjusted the mixture needles to 1.5 turns out and it idles fine. Also, the accelerator pump appears to be fine.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Please be gentle ha ha

    Thanks,
    Jon

  2. Float level, Vac***e leak, low fuel pump pressuer, Burnt points, Vac***e advance can bad, I'm sure there are a few more things that can cause it also.

Yeah, those are about as simple as carbs get. Maybe you moved the arm on the accelorator pump arm to the wrong hole?

Whole lot of other things you need to look as like was suggested.

    What's it in? I have a 352 in my 66 Galaxie

I usually turn the needles 2.5 turns.

    Thanks folks,

I tried the float adjustment with no luck. I also tried the propane trick but was unable to find any leaks.

I cranked up the fast Idle adjustment and it did the trick. The only problem with that is the RPMs are through the roof when it's in park. this is more of a bandaid.

I am sure it has something to do with the carb and finding the right tweaks... before I took it apart like the fool I am, it was running fine except for the slugish corners and long warm up time when first started.

Frank, this is in my 62 Galaxie.

    Thanks again

The 2100 is a simple carb with few moving parts.

Sounds like a too-small accel pump shot

    Thanks All,

I was able to resolve this with a bunch of 3M gasket silicone and tightening up the nuts like no bodys buisness. This seems to have fixed the problem. Stuip vac***e leaks!

    Thanks again,
    Jon
