There is a Santa Claus. Check out this recent post on bringatrailer.com http://bringatrailer.com/2010/05/10/unbelievable-arkansas-barn-find-clean-out/
there was two of them at the Santa Cruz Ca. "Woodies on the Wharf" this past summer. I can't see my photobucket pics at work, but there should be a picture of it (them) here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=375847
cool.. the packard just showed up on the bay.. its pretty darn rare.. wish I could have one.. the T&C convert is fairly rare as well.. the 4 door sedan is more common but is a neat piece.. I've yet to see a mopar woodie like these with out damage above the decklid.. so their condition is average..
you found a BARN in arkansas ? what are the chances all kidding aside... cool woodie. I would give my left nut and someone else too for that thing.
Some really neat cars there! These are the ones you hope to see get a real nice restoration. The 4 door Chrysler looks better than some 5 year old cars I've worked on!
I have been to this place many times, they have an all christmas theamed bed and breakfast, his son collects cars also, there are no great buys and he knows very well what he has, he also has about the largest collection of letter car chryslers in the world including several 1of1 or 1 of 3 or 4 type cars that were bult, also a huge garage full of NOS parts for the restoration of thses cars, this is no secret, he is in hemmings all the time.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290433912054&viewitem= There aren't many woodies this early still unrestored turning up, guess that's why the $75,901.99 selling price as-is. Wow. Who are these people, investing that much (or almost $$0K for the T&C Sedan, as-is) even with the economic downturn? You'd think the way things are, they can't restore them and still be ahead...(I have seen those T&C sedans nicely restored sell for less than $65.K, new wood and all)...how's this work? wonder if they're holding onto them and "speculating". Cool story...That ebay seller's "ME" page says they raise money for charity. I wonder if he donated all the proceeds?
