Does anybody know this car? It came out of Muncie, Ind. A friend of mine bought it three years ago and never drove it. I have a few questions about the car such as paint, rear, etc. Thanks, Keith
Will the oven cleaner attack the paint at all? I have some pin stripes on my Model A dash I would like to remove, it's painted with lacquer. Keith
some of that oven cleaner is pretty mean stuff,it will take paint off an engine. Some how though "daddy O" should go.
Ditto, Daddy-O. Either ditch the name on the side, or buy the DVD (which I have in my collection), preferably the MST 3K version (even funnier than the original) which will probably motivate you to do the same. Nice looking shoebox.
daddy-o aye? at least it doesnt say Daddy-o's rat rod... yeah peace out on the daddy O but cool *** Box other wise
Daddy-o ...some nicknames just stick. You may have to change your handle All jokes aside, I dig the car!
Spray the Daddy O with easy off oven cleaner and let set for about 15 Min. and spray with a hose and it will be off and not hurt the paint.
I appreciate it only took 2 minutes for someone to suggest removing that name before taking the car out in public. It's some very good advice!
I was wondering what the hub caps were. I was going to take them off till some one suggested maybe a bullet in the center. I've already removed the FORD stickers on the front fenders and the ugha horn.
So, does anybody in Indiana know this car? It would be nice to know about the paint before I try to strip the Daddy O off. It looks like it might be the Colony blue but with some metalic pearl or something over it. It looks purple in some light. Replaced the water pumps w/Speedway's ceramic seal units.
It says Daddy-O for a reason Darice the owner that had a friend of mine paint it, his father bought it brand new. So the Daddy-O was for his father that bought it new. That car has said Daddy-O as long as I can remember. The paint is the orig factory Ford blue for that year with red pearl over it. It is a urethane base/clear and the lettering is 1-shot. The friend that did the paint wants to know if you want to sell it?
Thanks for the info on the paint, I thought it was the orig. blue but the pearl threw me off. It also seems to have like an orange metallic or something in the clear. It's nice to know some history on the car, there is a frame with dash plaques in the trunk from '84 to '90 from different shows the car was at, I think. The shows were from around Indiana. I haven't thought about selling it, I bought it to drive while I do a motor swap on my '50 Fleetline and some body work. Any more info on the car would be appreciated. Keith
If you decide to sell it let me know and I will let him know. If you want I can stop by the old owners place and see if he has an email so you could talk with him.
If I do sell it, it would be awhile. I would really appreciate you seeing the old owner for me. I know if I had an old car out there I would like to here about it. Thanx, Keith
I had just looked at your post before I read this. I noticed you had taped off the stripes, was this necessary? I just bought a can of Easy Off to clean a flathead intake I just picked up. I am going to try it on the underside of the trunk lid.
