It's my new '51 styleline deluxe. I have looked at the paint swatches and can't determine which color it is. Thanks [http://www.flickr.com/photos/49364855@N02/4525460907/
I believe it is a 52 Chevy color- Honeydew #482 DAL 41148 DQE http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/
Book list two greens for 51, Fathom Green and Aspen Green. Each year from 49-52 lists different Greens, best to go in sun with paint chips from supplier and matchup. However it does look original, could not see doing such an original resto and not doing the correct number color. Stick to 51 color charts. Hope this helps, you probably already know this much.
Thanks for all the responses. I was thinking Honeydew as well. It does not appear to be a 51 color. maybe 50 or 52. Here is the list. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/models/paint4954.htm
Interesting...I learned to drive on a "pea green" 51 4 dr Chevy. This one seems to be a little darker than I remember but it could have just been faded. It was a factory paint job for sure until I ran into a 54 Ford and had to replace the fender and hood with different color junkyard parts.
Nice car! The first car I bought myself was a '61 VW painted a similar green. I think VW called it "Sea foam Green" or something like that. I painted it within a week to the Cordovan Brown metallic they came out with on Buick Rivieras that year. Around here juvenile officer's cars were painted that color so none of us "hoodlums" wanted it on their driver. Probably why that car didn't get "used up" back when... I'm still not fond of it unless it has a little bit of blue pearl shot over it, then it looks *****in! but if the car is all original or restored to original I wouldn't change it. If you are matching it for a blend, you might want to take the gas door or a skirt to your local paint pro and have him match/adjust the color to it. Otherwise you wont have a matching sun fade.
Hey, If it's the stock colour, as it left the factory with, the paint code should be on the build tag, the aluminum one, riveted to the cowl. Look for PNT or Paint then a two diget number. This is the factory code for that finish, and will match to the paint books formula for that colour. " Spending a nation into generational debt is not an act of comp***ion "
Around here I think the farmers called it "doesn't show the dirt green" Half the farm wives who drove those Chevys in the 50's in this area seemed to have that shade of green on their cars. 54 Chevs had a similar green and my grandparents had one that color. Yep, he farmed.
