Hot Rods Who makes model a frames?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by R. Seghi, May 3, 2010.

  1. I need to find a shop or a person that makes aftermarket Model A frames preferrably in So. Cal. Any ideas?

  3. if you want to build a super low model a hit up Killer. (johnson's garage) his are pretty damn strong & well thought out if you want that look.

  4. Apparently if you can draw a rectangle, you can build your own. Well, some welding ability helps, too. If you just need the basic frame, it's a ton cheaper that way.

  5. I don't want it too low. Maybe a 4 inch kick up at the back and a 4 inch dropped front axle. I'm building a '31 Tudor with fenders. Not extreme.

  11. I would look at the ones from Vaphead. You get a decent alliance discount and it's a real nice frame. Todd

  12. Why not go to TCI. They made the first repop frames almost 30 years ago. I think they know what thry are doing.

Contact Eric at Riley Automotive, not only an Alliance vendor with good discounts but a great and honest guy to do business with. He just posted a picture and specs of his new model A frame on his web site. CHECK IT OUT.........

I got a 32 TCI frame and it wasn't cheap but well worth the money. On the other hand my TCI tranny is crap! Good thing they're not the same company. TCI is located in ontario SC. I drove there from Santa Cruz, put the frame in my pickup and drove home.

  23. I have a stock one that has a 3 inch kick up in the rear and is a complete roller with juice brakes and split wishbones. very traditional chassis. I should have it together in the next few days and in the classifieds for sale.

  24. Speedway is out. I just called them and they have a frame but it costs $1900 and you get it their way or no way at all. So I choose the later.

I just picked up my frame from boling brothers this weekend. I highly recommend them. Great quality frame and the price is right.

  29. does anyone stamp the rail like the 32s?? ive always wondered why someone doesnt do this, is it because of the price and its easier to fabricate rails from tubing, or is it because you have to box the frame anyways if you are gonna run a ssbc/hemi/etc????

and i wonder when some ones gonna forge up some "heavy" undropped anxles:D
