I'm havin problems lining up the front sheet metal and the hood to the cowl. I was wondering if someone that has one with the front sheetmetal attached and adjusted correctly could post a side shot so I could see what the gaps are suppose to look like. I doubt I have time to fix the gaps before we go to dewey but the huge hood gap is starting to bug me. I know part of the problem is because when the previous owner subframed it they didn't make the mount for the radiator support high enough so thats part of my problem but I'd like to see examples of properly lined up pontiac sheetmetal so I can see what I need to do. Oh yea are there any tricks to lining up the hood cause Its a pain in the a@#$ because the only way I see is to adjust the hinges where they mount to the cowl and so far that has gotten me way to close, or way to far forward. If someone had an old shop manual that showed adjusting proccedures for the stock hood I'd appreciate a pic of that also.
my girlfriend has a 50 poncho her hood is all outa wack also i messed around with it and got it closer but it was a pain (its still not good enough for me) sorry i dont have any pics of her car on the computer at this time though
I will get you some shots by the weekend. I have an original 48 Pontiac Silver Streak. My family is the third owner and the car has never been apart. PM me your email and I can give you some hi-res shots that you can zoom in on
