Check it out. This thing is timeless. Bet the reserve is real high. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6391&item=2439996956
That is one of my favorite customs. I sure hope the right guy will buy that one! Would hate to see that with tilt steering, sbc and MkII...
Way cool car. Like who wouldn't wanna be seen in that? Sounds like the current owner is a real "car guy"...NOT!! If I owned that car I'd know everything there was to know about it. The history is partially what makes it valuable.
Did that car get an update? I thought that car had some inner headlight bezels neatly drilled with holes (non quad setup)?
In a couple months it'll probably have 22" spinner wheels, full under car neon kit, CD/DVD and a gold chain steering wheel. Anyone who buys it off ebay probably won't have the soul to leave it be.
[ QUOTE ] Dont some of you mix up this one with The Polynesian? [/ QUOTE ] Yep, you hit it right on the nose. I stand corrected.
Strange stuff. Just like if it was assuring us its alive and well, before it dived back into the shadows. Allways dug that reartreatment btw. Very slick.
I dont think its all in the shadows, as it was featured in R&C in the early 90´s (in the Pat Ganahl days of course...). By the way, anyone out there with knowledge about the current state of the other Goulart´s car? Im talking about Leroy´s green Ford (always imagined that was Ray´s brother? am I right?).
Leroy and Ray are brothers. I was told by by Gene Winfield(who built LeRoys car) that LeRoy looked high and lo for his old car in hopes of buying it back. He never did find it.
That's what I wanted to ask if LeRoy is a brother of Ray Goulart. Just yesterday i was going thru some old little pages and found a nice 51 Ford build by LeRoy for Winfield. It's custom cars 1/58. I would scan a pic but my girls not home and I'm still to dumb to do that. Mybe somebody else. It's a neat car.
Here is a great side shot of LeRoys 51. About 15 or so years ago, there was a rumor that this car was seen sitting next to a gas station in Laramie, Wyoming. The next time I was in Laramie, I asked at every gas station I could find, but no one seemed to know anything about it. It would be a great find. Mick
Thats got to be one of the all time best shoebox Fords. I really think the curved windshield makes the car. 1953 Ford W/S if I remember rite. Saw that car around 1959 at Half Moon Bay drag strip, killer paint......OLDBEET
It's strange that the Polynesian clone is also up on eBay right now as well. Polynesian clone auction Polynesian clone: Goulart Olds: Side by side, they don't realy share much in common, but they are both good examples of an era.
It's strange that the Polynesian clone is also up on eBay right now as well. Polynesian clone auction Polynesian clone: Goulart Olds: Coincidental similarities at least.
did anybody else see that this one's on ebay too? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2440426711&category=6144 i know there are pro'ly guys that will flame Rick Dore here, but i always liked his cars.... (for the most part )
